abstract

The design framework of intelligent sheet metal forming database system concept is put forward, which allows technical design experts without process control system and experts with forming process experience. In this study, the proposed frame is a circular cup drawing applied to variable blank holder force (BHF) control technology. The system can be used for three typical process requirements, namely, uniform cup wall, improving cup height and energy-saving objective function. The experiment of aluminum alloy plate is also verified in this design framework.

Some research reports on optimal control of metal forming process have been completed and are developing towards intelligent methods. Sheet metal stamping and intelligent drawing technology have developed to the latest action. One method is fuzzy inference adaptive control method (BHF) based on BHF. The other is the control method and artificial neural network (ANN)[2 model] in the process of detecting plastic deformation and friction materials. Although they have good advantages, each control system needs a lot of time to design and develop processes and labor. First of all, the design engineer must be an expert with knowledge and experience of molding technology, otherwise the assistance of engineers and craftsmen is essential. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a new concept of process design.
