One of the important tasks of the congress is to set the global biodiversity conservation goal in 2030 and formulate the global biodiversity conservation strategy for the next decade. On May 22, 2020, the Information Office of Yunnan Provincial Government held a press conference, saying that the 2020 United Nations Conference on Biodiversity was postponed due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
