When the teacher saw peony, peony, magnolia, wisteria, chrysanthemum and plum blossom, he stopped to look at it carefully and was intoxicated with the spring flowers, and could not bear to leave for a long time.

In the next few years, I accompanied Wan Li to see the exhibition of Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi many times, which was a good opportunity for him to learn painting art to commemorate his old friend, so I was reluctant to leave. Ma Wanli (1904- 1979) is a famous painter and art educator. Mr Wan Li became an artist at an early age. In the 1920s and 1930s, he was famous in Jiangnan. His books, paintings and seal cutting are extremely accomplished, and he is known as the "three wonders" of the art forest. Around 1945, Mr. Xu Beihong and Mr. Ma Wanli both lived in southwest China, and they were close friends. Mr. Hong Bei once prefaced Mr. Wan Li's solo exhibition and praised it with the words "Paying back the money diligently and entertaining the Central Plains, and Ma Jun Wan Li is very famous". Mr. Zhang Daqian and Mr. Zhang Daqian also jointly created The Picture of a Loose Cat and The Picture of Three Friends in a Cold Year. In the early days of the founding of New China, he went to live in Beijing at the invitation of Xu Beihong and Li. 1953 On September 26th, Mr. Wan Li was shocked to learn of the death of Mr. Beihong, and was deeply saddened. As early as at the beginning of his return to China, Xu Beihong had firmly established the strong artistic concept of "art for life", and almost all the images in his works were endowed with a very distinctive and unique symbolic meaning as an artistic tool for advocating the country and pioneering the people. In particular, his horse-themed works show different meanings in different situations, different gestures and movements, and different image combinations. For example, horses that rest on the grass and look leisurely show sympathy for strangers and soldiers, while horses with flying manes show encouragement to frontline soldiers and hope for the future of the country; Even those works with this theme that are given to relatives and friends still have profound implications. Interestingly, in Xu Beihong's works, the galloping horse endowed with this symbolic meaning is usually designed to ride alone.

The masterpieces of famous painters and seal engravers were presented by Xu's family. The whole painting only uses thick ink to outline the outline of the running horse, scribbles on the horse's knees, sweeps away the neck mane and tail mane, and smudges the horse's body slightly with fresh water ink. The pen and ink are very concise, and the effect is extremely fast, so that the viewer's eyes have to move forward quickly with its pen and ink, but in a trance, he only feels that a horse with high head and flying mane has come running with surprise, which is quite dynamic. Grass, as a combination of galloping images, is simply treated as a faint yellow grass in the painting, instead of the figurative grass leaves outlined with meticulous brushwork in the works with the theme of horse rest, in order to highlight the galloping trend and speed of galloping horses, which is for the owner's mind.

Another noteworthy phenomenon is that the angle between the horse's body and the paper plane is also an extremely interesting detail in Xu Beihong's horse-themed works. Looking at his works, most of them are at an angle of 30 degrees and 45 degrees with the paper, and there are few such works with horses nearly 90 degrees perpendicular to the paper. Ma Wanli's contacts with Zhang Daqian can be found in historical books all over the country. I met in Shanghai in my early years and joined Qiuying Society and Bee Painting Society. Later, he entered Bagui with Huang and met Daqian. Together with Xu Beihong, they forged a profound friendship in the mountains and rivers of Guilin. Guilin's unique Xiufeng was the collaborative work of Ma Wanli and Zhang Daqian at that time. There is also a picture of Zhang Yunxi Jing She, which is also the first line of Zhang Daqian's questions. After entering Sichuan, he had to mend fences with Zhang Daqian, and cooperated in such works as Climbing Autumn Mountain and Bamboo Map (Zhang Daqian painted tall and comfortable, wrote pines and wrote Luo). Wanli and Daqian have a lot of calligraphy. The young Yu Cenwei has made an appointment, and when he was with Shanghai, he spread it frequently. After the Wanli Journey to the West, Daqian and Beihong also went to Nanning successively and cooperated many times. Among them, "Three Friends in the Cold Year" written by Daqian who wrote pine and painted plum sadly and Wan Li who made bamboo was made at this time. It marks the friendship between them and becomes a story of an art forest. Later, in Guilin, three people climbed the Dumu Peak twice together. Daqian's handwritten scroll "Man Lu Daqian Co-wrote Guilin Du Xiufeng" was written after the second downhill. Sadness is the first line of writing, and there are poems to record it. At that time, celebrities had many poems. Wan Li also prefaced his solo exhibition in Nanning and framed it into a long volume. Now it has been collected as a literature treasure by Guangxi Museum. In the following two years, Wanli and Daqian met again in Shu. He is 42 years old and once painted a portrait of himself with the title: "I was an old friend of Wan Li when I was in Qingcheng Mountain, and that was June 10th." It was also engraved with the words "not Jewish" in white as a gift. On the edge of this seal, it says, "A thousand and ten thousand calendars." As the saying goes, it comes and goes, and Wan Li is a prolific writer. He painted fine works and gave them to Daqian. There must be many of them. As for the seal for Daqian, there are now as many as six or seven pieces.

Wan Li's seal cutting is unique and has become a family. Practice calligraphy and stone carving diligently since childhood, hang calligraphy and painting at home, and dig out the seal with a knife to copy. 1938, Zhang Daqian wrote 900 Stone Prints of Jingshe House, which was printed by Wan Li. Daqianfu inscribed Zhu, the first edition of Tao Zhu Map, which is the "first line" before the map. Mr. Ma Yifu, a famous scholar, talked about a long topic, which became famous for a while and became a volume. Three days before the long summer, the Japanese bombed Chongqing, and the city was burnt down. Wan Li lived in Dingqier. All his paintings were destroyed, but this volume survived.
