Spanish king's cup system

The competition system of the Spanish King's Cup in 2023-24 season is as follows:

In the 2023-24 season, there will be eight rounds of the King's Cup of Spain. The first three rounds will be qualifiers, and the final round will decide the outcome. The fourth round, the fifth round, the semi-final and the semi-final are all held in two rounds, and the team with more goals will qualify. If the goals of the two teams are the same, the visiting team's goal priority system will be adopted (the visiting team's goal number will be counted twice). If the outcome is still undecided, the two teams will decide the outcome 90 minutes after the second round.

After the overtime, if the number of goals is the same, the visiting team will be promoted by the visiting team's goal priority system. If the winner is still undecided, it will be decided by shooting twelve yards at the other side. The final venue is set at a neutral stadium to ensure that neither team has home court advantage, and it will be decided by one game. If it is tied within 90 minutes, it will take extra time to decide the winner. If there is still a tie in overtime, it will be decided by shooting twelve yards at the other side.

A historical introduction to the Spanish King's Cup.

The Spanish National Cup began at 1902 and was named after the king from the beginning: Alfonso VII Cup. The first trophy was permanently retained by the Bilbao Club in Biscay. The club was renamed Athletic Bilbao on 1903 and won the first three championships. In the following four years (1905- 1908), Real Madrid won the championship again and held the second trophy forever. 1914-1916 years, athletic Bilbao won three consecutive championships and occupied the third King's Cup forever.

Then it was Barcelona's turn to win the championship from 1920- 1928 five times and the King's Cup for the fourth time forever. Then during the period of 1930- 1932, Athletic Bilbao won three consecutive championships again, and the fifth King's Cup was awarded to them forever. 1933, "Alfonso VII Cup" was renamed "* * * and China Cup".

During the period of 1937- 1938, the Spanish Cup was suspended due to the civil war. 1939, after General Franco came to power, the King's Cup was renamed the "Supreme Commander" Cup, and the trophy was specially awarded to Seville, the champion of that year. On May 7, 2023, Real Madrid won the championship again with 2- 1 Osasuna after 9 years.
