What are the basic rules of track events?

1. Sprint, middle and long distance running

In track and field competitions, all running events (including hurdles and relay running) belong to track events. The ranking of contestants depends on the order in which their trunks (different from their heads, necks, arms, legs, hands or feet) reach the vertical line within the finish line. If the track results are the same, it will affect the entry into the next race. If the situation permits, all of them will be accepted, otherwise they will have to race again. In the final, the result is the first, and the referee has the right to decide whether to have a rematch. If it is considered unnecessary to have a rematch, the result of the match will remain unchanged. As for other places, even if the result is the same, there is no need to call again.

In international competitions, all track events of 400 meters and below must adopt squat starting and use starting devices. After the "Take your positions" and "Ready" passwords are issued, the contestants should immediately complete the relevant actions. Any contestant who fails to complete the relevant actions within a reasonable time is a starting foul. In addition, disturbing others with sound or action after "in place" is a starting foul. Any starting action before the gunfire rang is also a first foul. The starter should warn the runners who violate the rules at the start, and those who repeat the rules will be disqualified (this situation does not apply to men's decathlon and women's heptathlon).

For projects over 400 meters, the password is only "take your positions". When all the contestants are ready and still, they can fire their guns and start the game.

In track events with separate lanes, participants are not allowed to cross the designated track, otherwise they will be disqualified. In any track event, you will also be disqualified if you collide, cut people suddenly or hinder other competitors. On the other hand, any player who is pushed or forced to leave the designated track does not need to be disqualified as long as he does not get actual benefits. Similarly, any competitor crossing the runway in a straight line or crossing the outside of the runway in a corner is not a foul as long as it does not benefit others and does not hinder others.

(1) Runway Rules

All sprints, 1 10 meter hurdles and 4? In the 00-meter relay race, you must be on your own track from beginning to end. 800 meters 4? The start of the 00-meter relay race is on its own track, and athletes can't leave their track before crossing the separation line marked with swimming lanes. In the first round of the group competition, which runway the athletes are arranged on is freely arranged by the computer. In the next few rounds, the choice of runway depends on the performance of athletes in the final round. The purpose of this rule is to make better athletes queue up on the middle runway. Good runways are Runways No.3, No.4, No.5 and No.6, which should be occupied by the top four athletes respectively. Runways 1, 2, 7 and 8 are occupied by the last four.

(2) Start

As soon as the starting gun rang, the game began. The starter must first ensure the correct starting posture of the athletes, then shout "take your positions" and "get ready", and finally the starting gun will sound. If the athlete steals the race, the starter will declare the starting foul. If the offending athlete steals again, he will be disqualified. However, decathlon and heptathlon require three fouls to be disqualified. Athletes who take part in sprints (from 100 meters to 400 meters) and the first runner in relay races must use the starting device. The race over 800 meters is a standing start, and the starter only needs to shout "take your positions" and then fire his gun.

(3) Winning

The winner is the first athlete whose body touches the finish line. Two athletes competed for the right to enter the next round. If the time difference between the two players is less than 1‰ second, they can enter the next round at the same time. If the time difference cannot be calculated, draw lots to decide who will enter the next round. If this happens in the final, the referee can arrange for two athletes to play again alone. If the replay is not feasible, a tied champion will be produced.

(4) Division and grouping

The competition is divided into two rounds, three rounds or four rounds, mainly depending on the number of participants. The top two athletes in each group can enter the next round of competition, and in many competitions, the third group can also qualify. In the preliminaries, the scores of groups are arranged by cross-sorting, and the top athletes are assigned to different groups on average according to their scores. The result ranking is based on the athletes' best results last season. In the following rounds, the athletes were grouped according to the results of the previous round. If possible, athletes from the same country should be divided into different groups.

(5) Wind speed assistance

If the tailwind speed exceeds 2m/s (7.2km/h) in a sprint or hurdle race, the results created by the race cannot become a new world record.

(6) Circular runway

The circular runway is oval, 400 meters long, and the runway lines are drawn inside. There is a 5 cm high sideline at the inner edge of the circular runway, and the distance between the runway lines is1.22 ~1.25m. The race is conducted counterclockwise, and the circular runway is 1 ~ 8 from the inside out.

2. relay race

In all relay races, athletes must complete the baton handover in the 20-meter baton area. After the baton is handed over, the athletes must stay on the track of each team until all the handovers of each team are completed, otherwise they will be disqualified. If an athlete drops a stick in the relay race, only he can pick it up again. Athletes can leave their own track to pick up sticks, but they can't interfere with other athletes' competitions.
