What is a structured interview?
Structured interview, also known as standardized interview, is a standardized process that uses specific questions, evaluation methods and evaluation criteria, strictly follows specific procedures, communicates with the subjects through language, and evaluates the subjects.
Structured interview process
The structured interview process includes entering the examination room, answering questions, randomly asking questions, leaving the venue, grading and auditing.
1, enter the examination room
In addition to the examiner, the interview room is generally supervised by scorers, timekeepers and invigilators. The examiner is generally composed of seven people, one of whom is the main examiner. The examiner is responsible for reading the interview instructions, emphasizing matters needing attention, asking questions, etc. Candidates answer the given questions within the specified time. After admission, candidates go directly to the candidates' booth, say hello to the examiner after standing, and report their own test serial number. It should be noted that candidates cannot give their names. If the name is reported in the examination room, the interview qualification will be cancelled on the spot. After the candidates are seated, the examiner reads the interview instructions to the candidates and the interview begins.
2, interview questions, random questions
There are generally two forms of topics: one is the form of the topic book, and the other is the reading topic. When answering questions, it may be that candidates read all the questions first, concentrate on thinking and answer continuously; It can also be reading a question and answering a question, or every time the examiner asks a question, the candidate answers a question. After the examinee answers the questions, the examiner can ask questions according to the examinee's answers. Usually, there are not many random questions.
3. Candidate withdrawal
After the candidates have answered all the questions, the examiner will generally ask the candidates if they have anything else to add. If there is no supplement, the examiner will announce the candidate's departure. At this point, candidates politely bid farewell to the examiner, and are not allowed to take away the draft paper and the title tag on the table when leaving the examination room. Candidates put the chair back in place before leaving, but there is no need to put it back in place deliberately.
4. Scoring audit
After the interview, the examiner will grade according to the grading method, and after grading, give their respective grading tables to the raters to calculate the scores. The scoring method is to remove the highest score, remove the lowest score, and then get the average score. After the accounting is completed, submit it to the supervisor for review. After the grader calculates the score, the invigilator and examiner sign it and give it to the staff to announce it to the candidates in the waiting room. Some of them are posted in the waiting room or posted on the website.
What is leaderless group discussion?
Compared with other organizational forms, the process and content of leaderless group discussion interview in traditional structured interview are relatively fixed and unified. Generally, a group of examiners take turns to communicate with candidates through question and answer. Although structured interview is standardized and fair, it also has some disadvantages. On the one hand, this form is inefficient, and only more than 20 applicants can be interviewed in one day. On the other hand, it is difficult for examiners to accurately compare the level differences of different candidates.
In contrast, interviews without leading group discussions avoid this problem. In the interview without leading group discussion, 5-8 candidates are admitted at one time, and everyone can discuss the problem together within the specified time, which improves the efficiency and increases the contrast effect between different candidates.
The leaderless group discussion will go through five stages: candidates' admission, personal statement, free discussion, summary statement and candidates' exit. The following is an introduction to each stage:
1. Admission of candidates
Examiners confirm the candidates' identities in the waiting room and group the candidates according to the discussion requirements. Candidates must obey the arrangement of the staff when entering the examination room. Generally, it is guided by the staff and queued for admission. Knock on the door and get the permission of "come in" and enter in order. The specific location of general candidates should be decided by the candidates in advance. After entering the examination room, find your seat or behind the chair according to the desk card and stand by; When the examiner indicates that you can sit down, say thank you and then sit down; Avoid making harsh noises when adjusting the seat.
2. Personal statement
After the candidates are seated, listen carefully to the guidance of the interviewer and answer according to the tips and requirements of the guidance. Review the questions, read the materials quickly, master the time, allocate the time for thinking and answering questions, and make a general outline. Then express your opinions on the requirements of the question, and the duration of each person is generally no more than 5 minutes.
colloquy
In the stage of free discussion, candidates can decide their roles according to their own personality characteristics and actual situation. At this stage, candidates can not only clarify their own views, but also support or oppose others' views, and at the same time sum up their own or others' views. In group discussion, it is important to see what role the candidate plays in the discussion process. No matter which role you play, you should perform your role well and make the role of ordinary members distinctive and effective. Personal heroism is the last thing we need to show active participation and positive attitude, with team interests as the core.
4. Concluding remarks
In the concluding statement stage, one candidate in the group will generally summarize and state the views of the whole group. In the stage of summary statement, candidates should pay attention to the choice of roles. If the candidates have strong generalization ability and good expression and deduction ability, they can try to make a concluding statement. When summing up, be clear and point by point, pay attention to controlling the time, and be concise. This requires listening carefully during the whole discussion, understanding everyone's point of view, taking detailed notes, and having strong generalization ability.
5. Candidate withdrawal
When the specified discussion procedure ends or the specified end time arrives, after receiving the sign that the examiner and the staff have finished the interview or can leave, stand up and bow: "Thank you, examiners." Then put the paper and pen neatly on the table. Don't take the test questions, draft paper and recorder out of the examination room. Gently put the seat back in its original position and walk out with the staff in turn. Pay attention to your walking posture and facial expressions. The last person in line should pay attention to closing the door gently.
I hope that through the introduction of the above two interview forms, candidates can have a basic understanding of the structured interview process and the interview process without leading group discussion.
Here, I wish everyone a "success" in the exam!
