How many badminton competitions will Dānlín take part in in the Rio Olympic Games? What is the preliminaries? What else is there in the badminton group match?

In order to prevent athletes from deliberately losing in the group round robin stage to choose their opponents in the knockout stage, BWF specially modified the competition method of Rio Olympic Games. The main changes are as follows.

1, revised the relevant regulations on singles grouping and lottery carry in round robin stage.

The first is to change the fixed number of teams and athletes in each team during the London Olympic Games. At the London Olympic Games, there are 16 groups in singles, from Group A to Group P, and the maximum number of participants in each group is 4. The upper part is groups A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H, and the lower part is groups I, J, K, L, M, N, O and P, but the number of singles groups in Rio Olympic Games will be changed to 12 to 16 according to the number of participants, with a maximum of/kloc-.

Second, although each group is still represented by English letters A to P, some groups will be deleted because of the different number of participants.

2. In the knockout stage, the singles event has a bye position according to the number of participating teams.

According to the newly revised badminton competition rules of Rio Olympic Games, the singles event is still the first in each group after the group round robin, and it enters the pre-designated position in the order of A to P, 1 to 16 for single elimination. The difference is that if the number of parameter groups is 12, 13, 14 and 15, the corresponding positions are empty, as shown in the following table:

3, doubles events in the knockout stage to draw lots to carry.

According to the new rules of the Rio Olympic Games, after the round robin, the doubles events will still be the top two in each group, and they will advance to the second stage of elimination (1/4 finals). However, unlike the London Olympics, athletes will not enter the pre-designated positions of each group in alphabetical order for single elimination, but will draw lots again. The newly revised rules also stipulate that in the knockout stage, two pairs of players in the same group will be separated, and the first player in each group will be separated, as shown in the knockout table below, and the second player will be decided by drawing lots.

4. Video playback system

According to badminton rules, an instant playback system is introduced to judge whether badminton is out of bounds through playback. Players can choose to challenge twice in a game. If the challenge is successful, the number of challenge opportunities for players will not decrease.

Third, the qualification.

Compared with London Olympic Games, most other qualifications of Rio Olympic Games remain unchanged. The total number of badminton participants is still 172, of which 6 seats (3 men and 3 women) are invited by the Tripartite Committee; Two seats (65,438 men's singles players and 65,438 women's singles players +0 men's singles players and 65,438 men's singles players and 82 women's singles players) are used by the athletes of the host country, and the remaining 65,438+064 seats (82 men's singles players and 82 women's singles players) are used by qualified athletes and representatives from all continents according to the world rankings.

There are 34 seats for men and 34 seats for women in singles, including seats for representatives from all continents (excluding seats for the Tripartite Committee and the host country). If an athlete is qualified to participate in two events, the extra places will be used for singles events.

The world's top 16 pairs of doubles events will be eligible to participate, and the number of 16 pairs includes representatives from all continents.

The world ranking on May 5, 20 16 will be used to determine the qualification of badminton players for the Olympic Games. The world rankings are arranged according to the Olympic qualification points obtained by athletes from May 4th, 20 15 to May 6th, 20 16. During this period, athletes can get Olympic qualification points by participating in the following events: Tangyou Cup, Sudirman Cup, World Championships, Super Series, Golden Grand Prix, Golden Tournament, International Challenge, International Series, Prospective Series, European Championships (individuals and groups) and any other international events approved and agreed by BWF to be included in the world rankings.

The World Badminton Federation's revision of the qualification for the Rio Olympic Games mainly includes three aspects:

1, which reduces the number of entries in the following three aspects.

A, the full singular number is reduced.

The new regulations reduce the maximum number of participants in men's and women's singles from three to two, which is consistent with the qualification limit of doubles, that is, each national Olympic Committee can only send two athletes to participate in each singles event at most.

The slight change of this rule is different from that of the London Olympics. At the London Olympics, if a national Olympic Committee has four top four players in the world, it can send at most three of them to participate. At the Rio Olympic Games, the same national Olympic Committee can only send two athletes to participate in each individual event, provided that these two athletes are in the top 16 in each individual world ranking.

This is similar to the quota system of doubles, that is, each national Olympic Committee can only send two pairs of athletes in each doubles event at most, provided that these two pairs of athletes are the top 8 in the world.

Reduced the number of participants in each national Olympic Committee.

Due to the reduction of singles events, the number of official participants of each national Olympic Committee in the five events is two, and the total number of participants has also decreased from the previous 18 to 16 (8 men and 8 women). At the London Olympic Games, the total participation limit of a national Olympic Committee is 18 athletes, 9 men and 9 women; There are more in Beijing Olympic Games. If a national Olympic Committee gets full seats in each event, the total number of people can reach 24. Now it's eight points behind.

Reduced the number of events in the host country.

Rio Olympic Games only gave the host country/kloc-0 athletes in two singles events, but not in doubles events.

At the time of the London Olympic Games, the maximum number of participants in the host country is two. Regardless of the event, if all athletes are qualified to participate, the number of participants in the host country can exceed two.

2. Revised the regulations on athletes' qualifications.

The qualification requirements for athletes in Rio Olympic Games highlight the nationality requirements in the Olympic Charter, and at the same time, the requirements for athletes to participate in points events with Olympic qualifications also extend to all athletes, not just those invited by the Tripartite Committee.

All athletes must participate in at least three events (singles and/or doubles) with Olympic points during the Olympic qualification period, and this will be reflected in the world ranking on May 5, 20 16.

3. The world ranking of decision seeds has changed.

During the London Olympic Games, the world ranking for determining the seed basis was the world ranking 10 week before the registration deadline. However, the seed determination of Rio Olympic Games is based on the world ranking in the week before the registration deadline, which is very different from London Olympic Games.

The deadline for the Rio Olympic Organizing Committee to accept the entries is July 18 and 20 16, that is, Monday, and the ranking based on which the seeds are determined is July 2 1 day, which is the fixed time for BWF to publish the latest world ranking every week, and both dates are in the same week. According to the timetable for determining the qualification for the Rio Olympic Games, July 16 and 20 18 are also the deadline for the World Badminton Federation to redistribute unused places. In this way, it is reasonable to determine the seeds with the world ranking of July 2 1.
