BYD Song MAX DM-i was officially launched in March this year, and * * * launched five models with the price range of 145800- 172800 yuan. As a new car that replaces the pure fuel version of Song MAX and the old Song MAX DM, Song MAX DM-i chose a DM-i plug-in hybrid system with more emphasis on economy in the power system, and also provided an upgraded roof in the top-mounted executive version. So, what is the performance of the upgraded Song MAX DM-i? Let's get to know it through this test drive experience.
Happiness Upgrade is all about family travel.
Song MAX DM-i's upgrade in styling design is still in small details, and the overall style is still the iconic Dragon Face 2.0 design language. You know, after Wolfgang Eiger came to BYD, the first model to apply the dragon face design concept was Song MAX, and you will have a sense of fit in it.
The front face of Song MAX DM-i is still occupied by a large trapezoidal air intake grille. At the same time, the internal chrome-plated banner structure and sharp headlights with rising shapes on both sides outline enough momentum for the front face. As for the front surrounding part of the lower part, the two sides are also integrated with three-dimensional aerodynamic modeling, which makes the front face visually add a good sense of layering and not too monotonous.
When you come to the car side, if you see MAX DM-i for the first time, you may be confused by the roof shape of the top model. Visually, it is a bit like an external roof trunk, so it can give the whole car a strong outdoor travel atmosphere. Of course, in fact, this shape is an expansion of the top space in the car, not a storage space, and the overall strength is also guaranteed by the use of sheet metal technology.
In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the top executive model are 4710/181880mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2785 mm. As a compact MPV with a length less than 5m, Song MAX DM-i continues the normal door opening mode of the old models. As for the side sliding door that some consumers expect, the official said that it will be integrated into a new generation of models in the future.
Finally, at the rear of the car, the Song MAX DM-i rear taillight group adopts a more angular design, and the interior incorporates a dragon claw LED light source with strong visual recognition. At the same time, the taillights on both sides of the new car are connected by penetrating chrome trim strips, and the words "build your dreams" are printed on the top, which greatly enhances the exquisiteness of the rear.
Smart class first class has spacious roof and head space.
Entering the Song MAX DM-i car, the whole car is still a familiar BYD family element, but the new car adopts a variety of color combinations, including dark black, brown, milky white, a variety of color combinations, and a large area of soft materials and leather materials, creating enough texture.
Of course, the biggest highlight in the car is the 15.6-inch adaptive rotating central control panel located in the visual center. In terms of size, 15.6 inch is very close to the mainstream notebook computers on the market. At the same time, it is equipped with BYD's latest DiLink 4.0 in-vehicle system, which has a good performance in terms of functionality and fluency, and even gives me the illusion of using a tablet computer. Functions, including Cool Music, Gaode Map, Bi Li Bi Li, Tik Tok and other apps are all equipped. In addition, the system also supports OTA online upgrade and remote control. In hot summer, you can turn on the air conditioner in advance to reduce the temperature inside the car, which is really practical.
In other respects, Song MAX DM-i is also equipped with DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, including full-speed ACC adaptive cruise, lane keeping, active braking and other conventional functions, which can provide more help to consumers while driving. Moreover, Song MAX DM-i also comes standard with the function of VTOL mobile power station, which can provide necessary power for some small appliances when camping outdoors. In addition, on the 105km pure battery life version, it also supports 18 kW fast charging, which can achieve faster charging speed with the adapter.
In the space part, the top-mounted executive version we experienced adopted a 6-seat layout of 2+2+2, with the only cabin roof in the whole department. As for the seat part, the three rows of seats in the whole car are made of gradually brown leather. As can be seen from the shape of the seat, the overall consideration is not the ultimate package, but the comfort. Thanks to the softer padding, it can give passengers a more comfortable ride, but limited by the thinner padding in the third row of seats, the first and second rows are more comfortable to ride.
A fairly wide aisle is reserved between two independent seats in the second row, and the spacious head space brought by the rising cabin ceiling makes it more convenient for passengers to enter the third row from the middle of the second row. Although it won't let you walk freely in the car, you can still move in the car with your head down.
As for the performance of the trunk space, Song MAX DM-i, as a compact MPV model with a car length of less than 5 meters, did not leave much storage space in the trunk when it was used in the third row, but I think there is nothing to blame. After all, other competitors at the same level do the same. After putting down the third row of seats, the storage space in the trunk has more than doubled instantly, and the overall space is relatively flat, so there is no need to worry about such loading capacity.
The measured power loss and fuel consumption of 3.46L/ 100km are not the strongest strength of super hybrid.
The test drive was held in the scenic Qiandao Lake. The winding mountain road in the lake area provided a natural challenge route for Song MAX DM-i, so the official designed the fuel-saving challenge around Qiandao Lake to challenge the DM-i super hybrid entity economy through actual road driving. Different from other fuel consumption challenges, this activity uses the method of calculating fuel consumption and actual mileage to get fuel consumption, which is more realistic than apparent fuel consumption.
In addition, this challenge also tested the fuel consumption under the condition of vehicle power loss. Before the test, the vehicle power was only 30%, which undoubtedly put forward higher requirements for Song Max DM-I, but before the challenge began, BYD officials were full of confidence in its strength. They not only put forward the official fuel consumption target of 4.4L/ 100km, but also put forward the advanced challenge of drawing lots. This time, the advanced challenge target of 3.8L/ 100km was obtained, which looks a little challenging, but the official is very confident that other media can easily achieve the advanced target of the previous days.
I believe that the reason why BYD officials are so confident is based on the strength of DM-i super hybrid system. Song MAX DM-i is equipped with a DM-i hybrid system consisting of Xiaoyun plug-in dedicated 1.5L engine, front single motor and blade battery. Maximum engine power 1 10 horsepower and peak torque 135 nm. There are two versions of the electric hybrid system. The 5 1 km version is equipped with an electric hybrid system EHS 132, with a peak power of 180 HP and a peak torque of 3 16 Nm. The 105km model we experienced is equipped with the electric hybrid system EHS 145, with a peak power of 197 HP and a peak torque of 325 Nm.
The data shows that the presence of engine in DM-i system is weaker than that of motor. In the process of driving, the motor will participate in the work most of the time, which makes Song MAX DM-i almost provide a light and agile driving experience under the legal speed limit. Plus 7.9 seconds of 0- 100km/h acceleration time, which makes it a bit like a hatchback instead of an MPV. But when you turn the corner,
