Conditions for reappointment of third-class noncommissioned officers

Legal analysis: the conditions for the renewal of the third-level non-commissioned officer are: the second-level non-commissioned officer who has been approved to serve for three periods (four years) will be renewed as a third-level non-commissioned officer. The rank of non-commissioned officers was adjusted from level 6 to level 7. From low to high, the appellations are corporal, sergeant, staff sergeant, fourth-class master sergeant, third-class master sergeant, second-class master sergeant and first-class master sergeant. The rank title of first-class master sergeant to sixth-class master sergeant was cancelled. Conscripts serve for 2 years, and will no longer serve beyond the time limit. According to the military service law, since 1999, the rank of noncommissioned officers has been set from first-class noncommissioned officers to sixth-class noncommissioned officers. Second-class noncommissioned officers are the lowest ranks of intermediate noncommissioned officers.

Legal basis: Article 17 of the Regulations on the Administration of Non-commissioned Officers of China People's Liberation Army shall meet the basic conditions stipulated in the Regulations on the Service of Soldiers in Active Service of China People's Liberation Army and meet the following requirements:

(1) Those who are selected as non-commissioned officers at all levels shall receive corresponding training;

(2) To be selected as an intermediate or senior noncommissioned officer, one should have a junior college education or above in high school (technical secondary school);

(three) the selection of personnel who hold primary, intermediate and senior professional and technical positions, who have been engaged in this major for not less than half a year, five years and eight years in principle, and have the skills of primary, intermediate and technician respectively;

(4) Those who are selected as command and management noncommissioned officers and command and technical noncommissioned officers shall have corresponding organizational leadership and management capabilities;

(5) Those who are selected as non-commissioned officers at higher levels shall pass the annual examination at the corresponding level or above;

Conscripts and non-commissioned officers who have served in active service for 2 years shall be selected as non-commissioned officers with the approval of their units.
