In the second year of Song Xuanhe (A.D. 1 120), Gong Congjian went to Haoping Township, Chaoyang (now Heping). It was a hot summer, with no rain for a long time, crop failure, hunger everywhere, epidemic plague and devastation. In order to save people from danger, Gong Sui built a house at the end of Litchi Bridge and set up an altar to worship the gods, praying for the people to eliminate disasters, and at the same time, developing good medicine and distributing it to the people, so as to finally relieve the suffering of the sick people, win the respect of local villagers, and then live in the "post-spirit fire".
At that time, there was a big river (now Lian River) behind it. The water flowed fast all the year round, and many people who crossed the river drowned in the boat. The public can't bear the suffering of living beings, and they are good at thinking about life. Hongfa is willing to build a bridge to cross the road.
The people tried their best to build the bridge, ran around, mobilized people to donate money, and personally went to the river to make a detailed plan for building the bridge. This charity won the hearts of the people, and the crowd was enthusiastic for a while. The rich donate money and materials, and the poor work hard. Because of the will of the people, unity is strength. A bridge across the banks of Lianjiang River lasted for five years. When the sixteen-hole bridge was built, the founder of Dafeng died. People in the village were very sad, so they built a temple to worship them. Cai, who was born and raised, felt that Dafeng was his mentor and friend and lived up to expectations. He undertook the long-cherished wish of building a bridge and becoming the founder of Dafeng to comfort the founder's spirit in heaven. It was the end of the year, with a total length of more than 30 feet, a foot high and nine feet wide. The 18-hole wooden and stone structure bridge was finally completed, and the villagers cheered up and down, so they could cross the river safely from now on.
Song Dafeng's father's virtue is boundless and immortal. He mobilized the people to donate money, save money, spend money to build bridges, treat diseases for the people and produce good medicines. He is another generation of venerable monks after the Zen master in the Tang Dynasty. People still cling to it. In order to carry forward the merits of Dafeng's father, villagers in history organized charity meetings one after another to organize funerals for local people and collect wild bones, floating corpses at sea, floating corpses at sea and men and women who died in other places.
Charity acts in various places are a concrete manifestation of carrying forward the merits of Song Dafeng's ancestors and the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation.
