Rules of 16 before the World Cup

The rule of entering the 16 semi-finals in the 32nd World Cup is: there is no draw, only the winner, and the top two teams in the group stage enter the 16 semi-finals.

During the World Cup, 32 strong teams from different regions who entered the finals need to be divided into 8 groups on average, with 4 teams in each group, and each group needs to play 6 games. The competition system adopts the points system, and the top two teams can directly enter the top 16 ranks.

If there are two national teams with the same score, the team with more goal difference can be ranked first, and vice versa.

The rules of the World Cup are as follows:

There are 64 matches in the World Cup, including 48 group matches, 8 finals in 1/8, 4 finals in 1/4, 2 semi-finals, 3-4 finals in 1 game, and 3 rd and 4 th runner-up finals in 1 game.

32 teams were divided into 8 groups by drawing lots. There are four teams in each group to participate in the competition, and each team only needs to play one game with the other three teams. Four teams in each group played six games in round robin mode, each game lasted for 90 minutes, and the winning, drawing and losing scores were 3, 1 and 0 respectively. The top two teams in each group qualify for the knockout 1/8 finals, *** 16 teams.

The team that scored more goals within 90 minutes (including stoppage time) in the knockout stage won. If the two sides can't decide the winner within 90 minutes (including overtime), the first half and the second half will play 15 minutes overtime respectively. In the overtime stage, if the two teams are still tied, it will be decided by the penalty of the players from both sides.
