1930 Uruguay World Cup is the first FIFA World Cup. The competition was held in Uruguay from July 1930 to July 30, which was the first time that the World Cup was held in Uruguay and the first time that the World Cup was held in South America.
A total of 13 teams from three continents participated in this competition. Except for Uruguay, the host team, all other 12 teams are invited to qualify. Because many European teams think that going to South America is too expensive and a waste of time, only a few European teams are willing to participate in this competition.
The teams were divided into four groups, and the first place in each group advanced to the semi-finals. Argentina, Uruguay, the United States and Yugoslavia ranked first in the group and entered the semi-finals. 1930 On July 30th, Uruguay defeated Argentina 4-2 in the final and became the first World Cup champion.
