Opening hours of Xing 'an Temple in Guilin

6:00- 18:00

Guilin Temple, located in Niuwan, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, was founded in the first year of the Tang Dynasty. For hundreds of years, there have been many incense sticks in Guilin Temple, especially on the ninth day of September and the second day of November. In the past, there were also large-scale activities such as performing on stage and "Huang Foye's patrol".

Guilin Temple is dedicated to the real person Huang Guinan. Born in Niuwan, Guilin, it is said that he was born on the second day of November in the first year of Kaicheng in Tang Dynasty (836). When he was a cowherd, he was already a fairy boy who knew the good and bad, and when he grew up, he was even better at meditation. On the ninth day of September in the fourth year of Emperor Taizong's reign (884), he got a haircut and settled in Dabaoshan (now Luokeng Xiasha) on Shagang Road next to the village. At that time, he was 48. The surname of Shagang Lin established "Guixian Hall" on the spot, later called "Huangfo Hall", and changed it to Guangjitang and Daobei Temple. The grandnephew who returned to the south established a "Guilin Buddhist Temple" in a place called "Shengtangzui" on the edge of his village. Because it is a kind of temple, it is naturally close to the folk houses, and only later it developed into a Guilin temple with monks. Three brothers are all southerners, and their brother plays in the south. Their descendants mainly lived in Niuwan Guilin, Liulian and Shengchangkeng, developed to the 24th to 29th generations (from "Gong" generation to "Ke" generation), and also branched to Xinhui Qibao, other places and overseas. His younger brother moved to Xinhui Si Qian, and his descendants branched to Nanhai, Taishan, Heshan and Yangjiang. Guinan ranks second, and the local Huang family is called "second uncle" and "second master".

Guinan's birthday is called "Grandpa's birthday", "Grandpa's birthday will be cold", and Guilin Temple is also called "Grandpa's Temple". Many local people begin to "worship their ancestors" on the second night of the first day of every month 1 1, and some villages still keep the custom of cooking pigs door to door. It can be seen that Guilin Temple is both a temple and a family temple.
