Although Datura stramonium has certain ornamental value and beautiful flowers, the whole plant is poisonous, so its meaning is not good and auspicious. Legend has it that in the west, flowers usually bloom near the execution ground, so it also represents death, which means that the region is calling and will face death.
Morphological characteristics of Datura stramonium;
The stem is stout and erect, with a plant height of 50- 150cm. The upper part of the stem is bifurcated, the young branches are pubescent and the lower part is lignified. The whole plant is smooth and hairless, and sometimes there are sparse hairs on the young leaves.
The leaves are broadly ovate, tapering at the top, asymmetrically cuneate at the base, with irregular wavy dimples and triangular lobes at the edge, sparsely pubescent along the veins and both sides of the edge, and the petiole is 3 ~ 5 cm long. Flowers are solitary in leaf axils and branches, erect, with white, red and purple colors due to different varieties, and the calyx is tubular and slightly cracked.
