Zhuang Zhou Meng Die is a classic of On Zhuangzi Wuqi and a new philosophical proposition put forward by Zhuangzi, the main representative of Taoism in the Warring States Period.
Among them, with romantic imagination and wonderful writing style, Zhuangzi described and discussed the events in which become a butterfly and become a butterfly were their own after waking up, and put forward the view that it is impossible for people to accurately distinguish between truth and illusion and the materialization of life and death. Although the story is extremely short, it becomes the representative of Zhuangzi's poetic philosophy because it permeates the essence of Zhuangzi's poetic philosophy.
Because it contains romantic thoughts and feelings and rich philosophy of life, it has aroused the resonance of many literati and poets in later generations and become a topic they often chant, the most famous of which is what Li Shangyin said: "Saint Zhuangzi daydreaming was bewitched by butterflies, and Wang Chunxin sang cuckoos".
The story of Zhuang Zhou's dream butterfly: Once upon a time, Zhuang Zhou dreamed that he had become a butterfly, a dancing butterfly. I am very happy and carefree, and I don't know that I am Zhuang Zhou. After a while, I woke up, but it was Zhuang Zhou lying in bed. I wonder if Zhuang Zhou's dream turned into a butterfly, or if the butterfly's dream turned into Zhuang Zhou?
This fable is a famous article showing Zhuangzi's thought of homogeneity. Zhuangzi believes that if people can break the boundaries between life and death, things and me, they will be unhappy. It is light and ethereal, and is often quoted by philosophers and writers.
