Guhe River is a tributary of the left bank of the middle reaches of Huaihe River, the second largest tributary of Huaihe River, and also the main river course of Huaibei Plain, with a northwest-southeast trend. Originated in Weishi County, Henan Province, it flows through Kaifeng, Tongxu, Fugou, Taikang and Lu Yi in the southeast and Bozhou, Yang Guo and Mengcheng in Anhui Province, and flows into the Huaihe River near Huaiyuan County, Bengbu City. It is 380 kilometers long and the drainage area is 1.59 million square kilometers. The "gap" dug during the Warring States period was connected with it. The Wohe River has always been the main waterway between Henan and Anhui. Historically, it has been flooded by the Yellow River. The middle and lower reaches of Huiji estuary, a tributary, are already wide and deep, with good drainage capacity, and there is a saying that "water does not pass through vortex". In 1950s, the accumulated water in the upper reaches of Xifeihe River, Cihe River and Beifeihe River, which are adjacent to difficulties in drainage, was diverted to the Wohe River. After the 1960s, in order to develop irrigation, dams were generally built on the main tributaries to store water. With the recent renovation project of the Wohe River with a total investment of 65.438+304 billion yuan in full swing, Bozhou, Anhui Province is making great efforts to build economic intensive areas, urban intensive areas, cultural tourism areas and ecological construction demonstration areas along the Wohe River.
