Common cormorants are widely distributed in China. Wild cormorants are resident birds in the south and summer migratory birds in the north. Common cormorants are not uncommon in seawater and fresh water areas. Adult cormorants are about 70- 120 in length.
As far as feeding habits are concerned, common cormorants are the killers of fish. As long as the fish can be swallowed with their mouths, they won't be picky about food and will eat them all in order. In order to facilitate fishing, the common cormorant has evolved a sharp hook at the tip of its upper beak, which makes it difficult for fish to break free as long as they bite.
