Causes of eyelid jump
1, optic nerve compression
Eyelid muscles are innervated by nerves. When these nerves are compressed, the muscles of the eyes will contract involuntarily. The symptoms of nerve compression are both external and internal, such as the compression of tumors or the compression of surrounding tissues. External trauma or incorrect sleeping position.
2, eye muscle condition
The beating of eyelid is directly controlled by eye muscles. There are two kinds of muscles in the human body that control eyelid beating, one is orbicularis oculi muscle and the other is levator palpebrae superioris muscle. If these two muscles are dysfunctional, it will also cause eyelid jump.
3. Physiological factors
Physiological factors are mainly due to tension, overwork, excessive use of eyes or working in too strong or dark environment for a long time. It is easy to cause the eyelids to jump involuntarily.
