Green onions like to live in a warm and cool environment. Which season is better for planting?

Planting green onions in spring is transplanting green onion seedlings bred in autumn. The optimum temperature for seed germination of Chinese onion is 15~25℃, and it can germinate in two or three days after seedling. Onions are resistant to low temperature, and can tolerate the low temperature environment of -20℃. So North China is the main producing area of onions. Onion sowing can be divided into spring sowing and autumn sowing, mainly autumn sowing. Generally, it is transplanted from mid-September to early June of 10 in May and June of the following year after sowing. When sowing too early, the onion seedlings are easy to bolt, and when sowing too late, the onion seedlings are too small to survive the winter.

Sowing in autumn and transplanting in summer means harvesting high onions in autumn, and the whole growth period is more than one year. Therefore, excellent varieties with strong resistance, strong local adaptability and strong commercialization should be selected for sowing. Such as Gaojiaobai, Zhangqiu green onion and other varieties. The unplanned green onions are left until winter, and when they sprout in spring, they are croissants. "The more croissants you eat, the fatter you get." Crotalons were raised all the way to Tomb-Sweeping Day, and their mothers grew up. After flowering, their mother bears seeds. After the long summer, they collect seeds and sow them in autumn.

Grow green onions. Before and after September, the green onion field was loosened and leveled, and sufficient farmyard manure was applied, with 200 tons per mu and compound fertilizer 100 kg as base fertilizer. When sowing, Chinese onion seeds should be soaked in clear water for six to five to eight hours before sowing. In this way, green onions go hand in hand and come out quickly. The absorption capacity of water and fertilizer is not strong, and it is neither drought-resistant nor waterlogging-tolerant. Therefore, in order to make the green onion seedlings grow strong, it is necessary to choose land with rich and deep soil, loose and transparent, sunny and close to water, and convenient irrigation and drainage, preferably light sand with good drainage conditions.

The requirement of green onion for land is drought and no waterlogging, and the requirement for soil quality is that neutral soil is more suitable. It is best to start sowing after the summer heat in the twenty-four solar terms, and the best time for green onions to emerge completely is before the Millennium. Picking green onions is still a technical job. It looks easy, but it is inexperienced. Green onions break easily, so be careful when harvesting. It is best to avoid harvesting in the morning or when the temperature is low, so as not to freeze onions after harvesting.
