Magpie is a symbol of good luck, and drawing magpies indicates happiness. Magpies are very attractive, and their nests are particularly attractive.

Cars are speeding on the highway leading to Qinhuangdao, and there will be a nest of magpies every few trees, which adds a lot of comfort to the journey. Countless bird's nests, like peach blossoms and plum blossoms that bloom earlier than rocks on the roadside, make me feel that the pace of spring is irresistibly late! Looking at the magpie nest built on the branches of tall poplars, I was deeply impressed by these natural designs and admired the wisdom of these self-taught architects. The shapes of those bird's nests are so beautiful, they bring infinite vitality to trees, roads and nature, and people are shocked by their warm and peaceful artistic beauty! I must have lived or used to live in that nest, a pair of magpies that look alike, or a warm family.

Magpies are really good at building nests. They look simple outside the nest, but they actually have a lot to write about. I had a big discussion with my companions and conducted a Baidu search. Only then did I know more about magpies and their nests.

Magpies live in groups and mix with other crows; Sexual vigilance, there is always a bird to guard when foraging; The ability to fly is strong and lasting. When flying, the whole body is in a straight line with the tail, the tail is slightly opened, the wings are slowly stirred, and when moving on the ground, it advances by leaps and bounds; The song is monotonous and loud, "Zha-Zha-Zha". Many birds are together and the songs are noisy.

? Magpies generally start nesting in the cold winter of11-65438+February, and start breeding in early or late March. They usually nest on tall trees such as poplar, oak, elm and willow near villages and roads, and even nest on high-voltage poles, which is extremely eye-catching. Nesting is done by male magpies and female magpies. However, due to the thick branches used for nesting, some female magpies seem to be physically exhausted, so most of the transportation is undertaken by male magpies, which is more difficult. Magpies often take a long time to build nests. It takes more than two months from the beginning of pruning to the initial formation of the bird's nest, and it takes about four months for all internal projects to be completed. The outer branches of the magpie's nest are criss-crossed, which looks rough, but in fact its overall structure is very complex and fine. From the outside, the whole magpie nest is an upright oval with a height of 80 cm and a transverse diameter of 60 cm, which makes it difficult for a person to hug. There is a round hole on the side of the nest, the diameter of which is just suitable for magpies to go in and out. It has a top cover, and the top of the nest is very thick, reaching 30 cm. The branches are densely arranged, and the showers fall for a long time. The outer layer of the nest is dead branches mixed with weeds and soil, the inner layer is twigs and soil, and the inner layer is padded with soft substances such as hemp, fiber, grass roots, moss, animal hair and feathers.

At the beginning of nesting, magpies first pile the nest bottom on the fulcrum of three tree rights. When it spread to a considerable area, they stood in the center and built fences around it. Later, they went to the fence and put up a beam to further cover the top of the bird's nest. There is a thumb-thick beam inside, which is a solid support for the top of the bird's nest. Magpies put beams on their nests to protect them from the wind and rain. The bottom of the nest is about 25 cm thick and can be divided into four layers: the outermost layer is made of poplar, locust tree and willow branches, and the thickness is as thick as a pencil. Although the lengths are different, they are staggered very firmly, and it is very laborious to dismantle one separately. The inner layer is mostly soft branches of weeping willows, which are spirally crossed into hemispherical willow baskets and embedded in the lower half of the nest. In it, the third process is the strangest. This is a "mud bowl" made of river mud painted with wicker baskets, and the wall of the bowl is covered with deep claw marks. Obviously, this is a beaked river mud, and then "stepped on" it with your toes. Magpies are not only good at weaving, but also good at plastering. Inside is a close-fitting bedding, which is a "spring mattress" made of reed flowers, cotton wool, animal hair, human hair and bird hair.

Their nests are so perfect that they are sometimes coveted by lazy birds who can't build nests. In the abandoned magpie nest, there are often other families living a happy life!

In this beautiful season, I don't know how many pairs of magpies enjoy spring in their nests and reproduce. I seem to see the male magpie chirping excitedly, carefully choosing the nesting address, and struggling to fly around to get thick branches with the right thickness and length. The same hard-working female magpie will never relax and hate work, build knitting, share joys and sorrows with them and create a beautiful home of her own; Male and female magpies lovingly reproduce, turning the bird's nest into a warm haven, and then a group of magpie babies hatch and jump around happily on the branches.
