The watershed is about 5 kilometers northeast of Qinling Station. After leaving the station, you can go straight along provincial highway 2 12, and you will pass Dongheqiao Village, a farmer's village famous for its "Lingnan Tofu Banquet", and Lingnan Park, a snow-enjoying resort.
After a section of Panshan Road, a pass and a archway door, you will reach the "Watershed" observation deck. It takes about 1 hour to walk this way, or you can take a van with the villagers, and you can get to the watershed for 5 yuan.
Standing on the watershed at an altitude of1.500m, you will step on the dividing line between the north and south of China, and also on the dividing line between the Yellow River system and the Yangtze River system. Among them, Jialing River in the Yangtze River system is south of the watershed and is the source of Jialing River. To the north of the watershed is the Qingjiang River of the Yellow River system, which flows out of the Qingjiang River valley and will be injected into the Weihe River, a tributary of the Yellow River, in Weibin District of Baoji City.
Qinling river basin
Qinling Mountain is an east-west trending ancient fold fault mountain range in central China. It starts from the south of Gansu Province in the west and passes through the southwest of Shaanxi Province to the west of Henan Province. It is the watershed between Weihe River, a tributary of the Yellow River, and Jialing River and Hanjiang River, a tributary of the Yangtze River. Length 1 100 km. The western part of Qinling Mountain in Gansu Province is relatively low, with the highest peak about 2000 meters above sea level. There are Chengxian, Huixian and Liangdang basins in the mountains.
The East Qinling Mountains, east of the upper reaches of Jialing River, are east-west, with tight folds and narrow valleys, with an average elevation of about 2,000-3,000 meters. Taibai Mountain, the main peak, is 3767 meters above sea level, which is one of the few peaks in eastern China with an altitude of over 3000 meters. There are ancient glacial remains on the top of the mountain.
