Squirrel, a family of mammals and rodents, includes the subfamily Squirrel and the subfamily Ground Squirrel in Africa, and is characterized by a hairy tail. According to different living environments, the Squirrel Family is divided into tree squirrels, ground squirrels and stone squirrels.
It's a good thing that squirrels come into the house. Squirrels like places with good environment, good air, sanitation and quiet. This shows that your family is "smooth sailing". Squirrels are timid animals. Generally, when they meet people, they will run away immediately and suddenly appear in your home, which shows that you are a caring family. Squirrels appear at home mainly to find food. It's best not to touch it or scratch it, so as not to be scratched by it, but don't hurt it.
The living habits of squirrels
Squirrels are mainly vegetarian, mainly fruits and seeds of Korean pine, fir, spruce and hazelnut, and also eat some insects or small animals. When the food is green and yellow, the squirrel has another choice. We eat tree buds in spring and berries such as mushrooms, trays and cranberries in summer. In autumn, food is extremely rich, and we can eat whatever we want, but the most popular is red pine nuts.
Squirrels nest in dense branches, or use abandoned nests of crows and magpies, and sometimes nest in tree holes. Besides eating wild fruits, they also eat twigs, buds, leaves, insects and eggs. As soon as autumn comes, squirrels begin to store food. A squirrel often stores several kilograms of food in several places, and sometimes sees squirrels drying food in the trees to prevent food from going bad and moldy.
Breeding of squirrels
Squirrels are in estrus in spring and summer, and estrus lasts about two weeks. The reproductive age of squirrels is 8-9 weeks for females and 9- 10 weeks for males. The pregnancy time is about 35 ~ 40 days, and you can have about 3 babies every year, and you can have 4 ~ 6 babies at a time. Newborn squirrels are very small and can't see anything. Their mother's milk is the source of all their nutritional needs. Squirrels develop slowly and open their eyes nearly 30 days after birth. It was not until a month and a half that the little squirrel was willing to go outdoors.
