Introduction to Selected Catalogue of Ancient Maps of China

Most of the maps in this atlas are published for the first time. The principle of selection is: give priority to picture books and inscriptions, give priority to earlier ones, give priority to exquisite paintings, give priority to unique and complete expressions, and choose as many paintings drawn by traditional Chinese methods as possible.

In terms of time, the earliest picture selected in this atlas is Taihua Mountain, which was inscribed in the Ming Wanli period (16 15) and later inscribed with poems by Wang Wei, Li Bai, Du Fu, Han Yu, Meng Jiao, Chen Tuan, Han Qi and Shao Yong in the Chongzhen period. The selected maps drawn during Kangxi period in Qing dynasty include Gansu map and Taihu map during Haikou Pass and Yongzheng period. During the Qianlong period, there were Fujian coastal map, Shanxi military map and Shanxi geographical map.

In the form of drawing, the more precious color hand-drawn maps, such as military maps, include the size of Haikou Fort in Zhili, the description of Haikou Fort in Shandong, the grand view of the Yangtze River near Jiujiang, the whole map of Jinyi City Wall, the layout of the military government, the map of Haikou Fort in Nagato, and the Eight Banners in Jingzhou. Urban maps include Fuzhou urban map, Wuchang Hankou bird's eye map, Kuizhou map, Chaozhou map, Beijing map and Pingle urban map. Scenic spots include summer resort map, Hengshan map, Jiao Shan panorama map, Jehol map, Panshan map, Fengtian Beizhen County Lushan map. Feng Shui paintings include Ming Tombs, Mausoleums, Dongling Feng Shui Map, Yongling Full Map and Fuling Map. Water conservancy includes the whole map of the Huaihe River and the discharge map of the Yangtze River. The economic category includes the card map of Lijin Bureau of Hubei Province. Stone map is also extremely precious, because it is difficult to preserve after many wars. The income of this atlas includes: Shanxi map, Taishan map, Hua Yue map, Taihua map, Taihua map, Guanshan eight scenic spots map, Longmenshan map and Canglang Pavilion map.

Other outstanding works of the local atlas include: Beijing Map (painted in Qing Dynasty), Nanyue Peak Map (painted in Qing Dynasty), River Beach Map of Ten Counties under the jurisdiction of Ying Si and Chu Biao (painted in Qing Dynasty: 65,438+00), General Map of Thirteen Houses in Jiangxi (printed in Qing Dynasty: 65,438+03), and.
