How to raise pet frogs?

1. Know what kind of container frogs are suitable for living in.

Different kinds of frogs need to be kept in different types of water tanks, so be sure to do your homework in advance.

Land-like tank: This kind of container is the simplest, but it is only suitable for terrestrial frogs living in dry environment.

Imitation aquatic tank: This kind of container is only suitable for frogs that are completely aquatic, usually an ordinary glass tank filled with water, much like a fish tank.

Amphibious water tank: this kind of container is the most common, half filled with water and half kept dry. Most frogs are suitable for living in this environment.

2. Put the frog container in the right place, and then decide where to put it after you get it. Because direct sunlight will increase the temperature in the tank, frogs will feel uncomfortable and even endanger their lives, so the water tank should be placed in a cool place, which will not be exposed to direct sunlight.

3. Pave the cylinder with suitable base material. The base is the bottom of the water tank. This part mainly considers the required humidity or dryness and the complexity of cleaning. Gravel is suitable for most frogs. This kind of gravel is easy to clean, rich in color and different in size. Other materials can also be selected, including potted soil, pine bark, sand, Chinese fir or pine sawdust.

4. Understand the light intensity and temperature suitable for frog survival. Different kinds of frogs have different requirements for temperature, so before placing the water tank, be sure to find out the most suitable temperature. You can buy a heating lamp on top of the water tank, not inside, or buy a heating pad to wrap it outside the water tank to achieve the heating effect.

5. Feed frogs with crickets and other insects. Most frogs feed on crickets, worms and other insects. Large frogs occasionally eat mice or goldfish.
