Heqing County is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, at the southern end of Hengduan Mountains in western Yunnan, on the east side of Yunling Mountains and at the northern end of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. Its geographical coordinates are10001'-10029' and 25 57'-26 42' north latitude.
