Guiping, also known as Zhou Xun, is located in the southeast of Guangxi, at the junction of Qianjiang, yujiang county and Jiang Xun. Guiping County was founded in the first year of Liang Dynasty (502). 1May, 1994, the county was withdrawn to set up a city. It has jurisdiction over 26 towns including Xishan Town, Mayou Town, Dongxin Township and Mapi Township.
The largest township is Xishan Town, with a land area of 30 1 km2. Population: about 230,000 people. The smallest township is Mapi Township, with a land area of 63 square kilometers. Population: about 48,000 people.
