When it comes to Zhu Yuanzhang's appearance, many folklore says that he is a horse-faced elephant, but the Ming History says that he looks extraordinary. He died at the age of 25 and became Guo because of his outstanding appearance. Even, it is recorded that when he was born, the room was full of red light, and since then, light has often risen at night. The neighbor saw it, thought it was on fire, and ran to save it, but when he got to his house, there was nothing.
It is said that Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, was once considered a rich man. Then, Zhu Yuanzhang got financial support from this man and even married his daughter as a concubine. I believe you are not familiar with this story. Let's talk about it today.
In other words, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the world was in chaos, the rulers were groggy and helpless, and insurgents swarmed everywhere. The mountains and rivers of the Yuan Dynasty were in jeopardy. Mongolian soldiers who used to roar like electricity and come and go like the wind, through light dancing, their waists became soft and they could no longer see the vigorous posture on horseback.
At this time, the enslaved Han Chinese stood up again, and Zhu Yuanzhang, a poor peasant, embarked on the road of rebellion in this wave of aggression. When the uprising was in the ascendant, Zhu Yuanzhang was just an ordinary officer under Guo Zixing. One day, he was ordered to go to Bozhou, Anhui Province for conscription. In the process, he met an old man with bright eyes. The old man's name is Guo. I don't think anyone is familiar with this name. However, in Haozhou at that time, Guo's name was a household name. He is a famous local fortuneteller and belongs to the kind of person who dare not offend anyone.
It is said that Guo's physiognomy is superb, and his predictions will come true in most cases. The local people regard him as a "god man", and Zhu Yuanzhang's conscription at this point can be said to be an invisible fate. Guo has entered the old age at this time, but his fortune-telling ability has become more and more sophisticated with his age. Even so, when he saw Zhu Yuanzhang, he couldn't help being surprised! Why? It turns out that Zhu Yuanzhang's face is expensive, and he is likely to have the last laugh in this troubled times and establish a huge dynasty.
Of course, Guo was confident in his face, so he began to make a small plan. After that, he was very enthusiastic about Zhu Yuanzhang and called his two sons and brought them to Zhu Yuanzhang.
Lao Guo has high expectations for his sons. He is good at physiognomy, and naturally he met his own son, both of whom have noble fates. Guo thought that his son's chance of success should be Zhu Yuanzhang, so it was very convenient to send his two sons as bodyguards for Zhu Yuanzhang. Later, Guo Fushan was called Guo Ninglian, the apple of his eye.
You know, in ancient society, family members were generally not allowed to meet strangers. Unless this person is familiar with the host family, it is possible to know the host family's wife. Guo's series of actions naturally made Zhu Yuanzhang overjoyed, because Guo actually betrothed his daughter to him! Of course, Zhu Yuanzhang already had a wife at this time.
Before, he took the lead under Guo Zixing, and Guo Zixing attached great importance to him. He married his adopted daughter to Zhu Yuanzhang early. Hearing this, Guo felt a little sorry. The dragon and phoenix among these people are married. However, he obviously didn't give up the idea. Guo thought about it and decided to marry his daughter to Zhu Yuanzhang as a concubine.
You know, in ancient times, concubines had a low status and were often bullied by their wives. According to Guo's social status and reputation, his daughter can find a good home anyway. I'm afraid all bureaucrats can't marry his daughter. But he did not hesitate to give his daughter to Zhu Yuanzhang as a concubine. It can be seen that his expectations of Zhu Yuanzhang are very high. This unusual story is also mentioned in the history books, and it is recorded in the Biography of Empresses of the Ming Dynasty.
Later, the Guo family became a vassal, and Guo himself got the title of Hou. And his daughter is a noble in the palace, second only to Ma Huanghou. Moreover, after Ma Huanghou's unfortunate death, she directly became the real mistress of Zhu Yuanzhang's harem-Guo Ningfei.
So, how many women did Zhu Yuanzhang have in his life? According to Ming Hui Dian, "Forty concubines were Mao, the second concubines were buried in Yuling, and the rest were buried." There is also a history book that says 46 concubines. No matter which number is correct, it can at least prove that Zhu Yuanzhang had seen more than 40 women before his death.
However, it is worth mentioning that although Zhu Yuanzhang has many concubines, he doesn't even let go of women who are political opponents. It is really amazing that he doesn't have the nickname "the dissolute emperor". In fact, the so-called physiognomy is mostly fictional, and many stories are recorded to hide people's eyes and ears. There are interests involved and exchanges behind it, and "face to face" is just an excuse.
Of course, from a scientific point of view, if a person is confident, self-reliant and determined, then he will definitely look more attractive than ordinary people. If such a person gets a good chance, he will surely leap into the dragon gate, which is understandable as a noble character.
Today, there is a portrait of Zhu Yuanzhang in the Palace Museum in Beijing. The outline of this portrait of Zhu Yuanzhang is similar to that of the Ming Tombs, but it has obviously undergone artistic processing. Its appearance is much kinder, giving people an elegant feeling. In addition, there is a portrait of Zhu Yuanzhang as emperor. These are all drawn according to the requirements of the emperor. Zhu Yuanzhang in the painting is sitting, wearing an official robe and a jade belt. His face is plump and his expression is kind. He is the image of an emperor, farther away from his appearance.
