What areas does the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau mainly include?

Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau mainly covers the whole province of Guizhou, east of Ailao Mountain in Yunnan, and the border area between northern Guangxi and Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan and other provinces. It is the intersection of two groups of mountains in China, with an average elevation of1000 ~ 2000 m. The western part of the plateau is located in Yunnan Province, and the mountains are mainly north-south, such as Wumeng Mountain, Diancang Mountain and Longshan Mountain. The eastern part of the plateau is located in Guizhou Province, and the mountains are mainly northeast-southwest, such as Wuling Mountain and Dalou Mountain.

In addition, the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau is also the watershed of the Yangtze River, Xijiang River (the largest tributary of the Pearl River) and Yuanjiang River (the downstream red river). Many tributaries of these rivers, such as Jinsha River, Chishui River, Wujiang River and Yuanjiang River in the Yangtze River system, Nanpanjiang River and Beipanjiang River in the Xijiang River system, have cut the ground for a long time, forming many deep and steep canyons, so that most areas of the plateau, especially the edge of the plateau, are basically high mountains and deep valleys with overlapping peaks and valleys. For example, the Hutiaojian Grand Canyon in Jinsha River is 3000 meters deep, and the Wujiang River Valley is 300 ~ 500 meters deep. Huangguoshu Waterfall at the source of Beipanjiang Dabang is one of the largest waterfalls in China, which falls down the rhinoceros pond from a steep cliff several tens of meters high. In fact, after years of development, today's Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau can be said to be a mountainous plateau.

The ground in the dam is very flat and the soil layer is deep. It is usually a place where agriculture is developed and population is concentrated, and large towns are distributed here. There are also many "fault lakes" on the plateau, such as the famous Dianchi Lake in eastern Yunnan and Erhai Lake in central Yunnan, covering an area of 340 square kilometers and 250 square kilometers respectively. The tourist attractions Kunming and Dali are located on one side of these two lakes.
