Introduction to Dazhu Pure Land Temple

In the early Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (about 1580 AD), Gaoguan Temple was built in Gaoguan Mountain. From the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, it continued to be popular for more than 300 years. In the early years of the Republic of China, the society was in turmoil and banditry occurred repeatedly. The gentry in the county built a stronghold and built a gate and a number of cottages on the west side of the mountain. They took refuge here and sought peace. At that time, this place was also called Gaoguan Village. In the late years of the Republic of China, the monks and monasteries were in ruins and the cottages were vacant. By the 1950s and 1960s, all the pine forests in the village walls and cottages had been destroyed, and only the pine forests on the surrounding cliffs still remained. In addition, because of the high mountains, it was difficult to walk, and there were few people there. As time goes by, Gaoguanzhai, a geomantic treasure land, is gradually forgotten by people.

In September of 2002 (the year of Renwu), the monk Shi Dedao traveled here, stopped to observe the mountain, and realized that this mountain was sacred. After surveying the ground, he knew the origin of this place, and his connection with Buddhism suddenly became clear. After opening, Hong vowed to rebuild the temple and create the first Pure Land dojo in eastern Sichuan, from which the Pure Land Temple got its name. The monk's virtue and vitality are strong, and he can overcome all dharmas with just one mind. He has matured in his profession. He has worked hard and devoted himself to it. He has a well-established plan in mind and resolutely recruits for cultivation. His virtue is felt in all directions. When you pray, there will be a cloud of answers.
