Cixi’s official tomb did not dare to build the railway but bypassed him

Hu Yajie, a wealthy girl from Beijing, has been highly respected since ancient times. This is not only because of the emphasis on Confucianism, but also because of the psychological factors of ancestor worship. They believe that the spirits of their dead ancestors still exist and can influence contemporary people to a certain extent. Therefore, the choice of ancestral graves must be careful. The rise of Feng Shui masters is closely related to this idea. But regardless of the ancestral graves, I believe many people will choose to succumb to the demands of the highest authorities, especially in the past when the hierarchy was strict. Today, Xiaoyi Search, we will talk about such an "alternative" in the tombs of the Qing Dynasty. It not only defied the will of the Qing rulers, but also made them change their own will. Whose grave is this?

Some friends will say, isn’t this the royal tomb of the previous dynasty! I have to say, you really guessed wrong. This tomb located between two villages in Maquan Town, Tianjin City is called "Cao's Tomb" by local people. As the name suggests, it is the ancestral grave of the Cao family. This Cao was not left by the Cao family of the Eastern Han Dynasty. After all, famous tombs like those thousands of years ago have been "ruined" countless times. This mausoleum covering an area of ??more than 1,000 acres is different from the Jiangning Cao family that it thought it represented. They are a large family in the south of the Yangtze River left over from the Ming Dynasty.

So what does this have to do with the fact that their ancestral tombs are so awesome that they were not allowed to be touched by the rulers of the Qing Dynasty? Do squires and noble families have this right? Actually there is another story here.

As time went by, in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Cao Han, then editor of the Hanlin Academy, was responsible for the expansion of ancestral tombs because there were not enough, so he paid for a Feng Shui teacher. Starting from Wu Qing, he finally chose the place where all the emperors mentioned above dared to go against their will.

According to historical records, Cao Chuan and Emperor Kangxi had a very good relationship. Every time the emperor went to Wuqing, he would visit Cao's family, and they went more frequently. Kangxi naturally had a good impression of Cao Chuan's son, Cao Han, and arranged for him to accompany the prince to study. The relationship between the Cao family and the Qing Dynasty was even closer. Later, Kangxi personally wrote a plaque for the Cao family and hung it on the front door of the Cao family's ancestral tomb.

As time passed, 100 years later, the Qing government began to plan to build a 415-kilometer-long Beijing-Yu railway to facilitate transportation. Among them, a section of road designed by Luofa in Tianjin happens to pass through "Cao's Tomb", which is actually a criticism that "Cao's Tomb occupies too much space." Naturally, Cao Cao was unwilling to demolish his ancestral tomb, but the emperor's life was difficult. what do I do?

After some discussion, Cao decided to launch a money offensive. First, he bribed Chief Engineer Sun. But the cunning Sun said that this was a construction plan set by the imperial court, and he did not dare to change it at will even if he was given a hundred heads, so that Cao could go to see the Empress Dowager Cixi. The Cao family gritted their teeth and bought a grand gift for the Empress Dowager Cixi.

Empress Dowager Cixi didn't know whether it was because of the huge gift she received or because of Kangxi's imperial gift, so she changed her attitude and sent someone to tell Emperor Guangxu and ordered a diversion. Poor Guangxu was a puppet and could only obey the wishes of the Empress Dowager Cixi and change the design on the order. Finally, Cao's wish finally came true.
