Besides Xishuangbanna, the most worthwhile place to spend the winter on the border between China and Myanmar is the most precious winter in Yunnan.

There are countless places of interest in Yunnan. Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La are all worth visiting again. When you come to Yunnan in winter, you can feed the seagulls at Haitang Dam in Kunming, or blow the wind and bask in the sun by Erhai Lake in Dali.

But there is one place that we often overlook, and that is Dehong, the hometown of peacocks located in the lower reaches of Nujiang River. This winter, it is better to come to Dehong, a warm place, to feed the peacocks and taste delicious food.

Dehong is located in the border of Yunnan, with Baoshan in the east and mountains and rivers in Myanmar in the west, south and north. Because Dehong Quanzhou is close to the Tropic of Cancer, there is no severe cold in winter and no intense heat in summer, and the annual average temperature is between 18.4 ~20.

It can be said that Dehong is the most winter-worthy place in Yunnan outside Xishuangbanna, where 99% of tourists have never experienced the original Yunnan.

Dehong's folk customs are similar to those of Xishuangbanna, with Dai people as the mainstay, believing in Southern Buddhism and full of exotic customs in Southeast Asia.

Dehong's main tourist destinations are mangshi and Ruili.

The landmark building of mangshi is the Dream Pagoda, which is located at the top of Leiya Rang on the Peacock Lake in the southeast of mangshi. This golden pagoda is the first golden stupa in China and the first hollow stupa in Asia.

In addition to the Golden Pagoda, other famous scenic spots in mangshi include Baoshu Pagoda, Montparnasse Garden and Peacock Valley. Last April, mangshi added a particularly unpopular and super beautiful place-Dream Silver Pagoda Temple.

The Dream Silver Pagoda is located on the hill opposite the Shwedagon Pagoda, echoing the Shwedagon Pagoda from afar. Against the background of blue sky and white clouds, walking in local Dai costumes seems to have crossed Thailand at once, and it is especially easy to make ins-style films.

Compared with mangshi's low profile, Ruili is more famous. Many TV dramas, such as Princess Peacock, The Journey to the West, The Beacon in the Border Village, The Hacker, etc. It was all shot here.

Ruili is just across the river from Myanmar. The most attractive attractions here are Zhai Yi and Zhaizhai, where there are the most expensive jade borders in China and unique stupa buildings.

Besides, Ruili is also the "Jade City" in China. According to statistics, almost half of the jade sold from Myanmar to China is sent from Ruili to the whole country.

Delong Night Market in Ruili is the largest "jade wool trading market and live broadcast base" in China. There is a saying here that "a knife is poor and a knife is rich, and a knife is covered with linen." Friends can experience a gambling stone here, but remember that enough is enough!

If you must find a reason to go to Dehong, it is food. Dehong is a gourmet paradise favored by director Chen Xiaoqing. Dehong can be found in the food documentaries Flavor World and Flavor Origin Yunnan.

There are more sour Dai flavors than Banna, more vigorous barbecues than Jianshui, richer snacks than Dali, and more exotic fruits than Honghe. In Dehong, you can eat the most authentic Southeast Asian cuisine without leaving home.

When you come to Dehong, you must try the most delicious black dish-sprinkle. It is also called Dehong's cross-bridge rice noodle because it uses the bitter water boiled from the bitter intestines of animals as seasoning and the meat is dipped in leeks, parsley, millet and spicy rice noodles.

Everyone knows the "crossing the bridge rice noodle" in Yunnan, but they don't know that Dehong Achang people have a kind of crossing the bridge rice noodle. Put the rice noodles in the palm of your hand, dip them in seasoning and lick your fingers after eating. (Friendly tip: Remember to wash your hands. )

Dehong's food looks very similar to Xishuangbanna, but it has a unique flavor because of Dehong's unique combustion technology and condiments. Among them, the most noteworthy are ghost chicken and roast pig.

In addition, on the streets of Dehong, you can easily eat Vietnamese rice rolls, spring rolls, Myanmar fried noodles, Thai Baba, and various Southeast Asian snacks such as Paoluda.

By the way, don't be surprised if you see extra-large fruit in Dehong. Without expansion agent, they are so big. If you don't want to go abroad, you can experience exotic customs and taste all kinds of extreme food, so come to Dehong quickly!
