Appreciation of Feng Shui in Nanjing Presidential Palace
The offshore ship of Nanjing Presidential Palace is a stone ship built in the water, so it is called "offshore ship". It was built by Yin Jishan, governor of the two rivers in the 11th year of Qing Qianlong (1746) to welcome the emperor's southern tour. The shape of the boat is like a flower boat in the south of the Yangtze River (a boat that eats boat dishes and listens to ditties while sightseeing). Below the ship, there is a blue stone hull. The hut is made of wood and covered with a shed roof. A boat with a length of 14.50m, a bow width of 4.63m, a tail width of 4.56m and a shed height of 2.77m, commonly known as a dry boat, is generally divided into three parts. The first cabin, commonly known as the yarn hat hall, accounts for half of the whole ship; The middle cabin is divided into two, with wooden windows next to it for people to feast and watch; Behind it is the back cabin. The unbounded ship is divided into front and rear cabins, and the front cabin is decorated with a set of carved furniture to form a living room. The woodcarving of the whole ship is very gorgeous. Bats, sika deer and bobcats (animals) carved on the lintel symbolize Lu and longevity respectively, and others include peony, evergreen trees and cranes, all of which mean longevity and wealth. There are two lions carved with wood and colored plastic on the doorpost of the stone boat, and the word "Wang" is on the forehead. This plaque, originally inscribed by Qianlong, has disappeared and now belongs to calligrapher Fei Xinwo Zuo Shu. Gan Long, Hong Xiuquan and Sun Yat-sen all rested here. Stone boats are very common in Jiangnan gardens. Here Qianlong called them "not tying boats", which was the allusion of Emperor Taizong. Emperor Taizong warned Prince Li Zhi (Emperor Gaozong): "Ordinary Lebanon is water, and a monarch is better than a boat. Water can carry a boat or overturn it. " Qianlong called it not a ship, which means that his country is as stable as a rock.
