Carving a jar is to repair it. The wok used for cooking will crack if it is used for a long time, so the tinker sews it up with red-hot molten iron like sewing clothes.
Potters in the south are only responsible for repairing pots in the south, and generally do not go to the north; The tinker in the north is only responsible for repairing the pots in the north, and everything comes to the south. Different hawking sounds are a sign to identify the regional differences in Changsha.
However, there is also a kind of Hawking, which is in between. It is neither particularly hoarse nor particularly harsh, and the number of words shouted is more, which is somewhat similar to the hawking in the ancient painting opera "Buguo"-"Buguo ~ ~ Wow! There are rice pots, vegetable pots and pots to make up ~ ~ ~! "
The reason why the old Changsha divided the city into "South City" and "North City" is that before the Republic of China, Changsha City was composed of two counties, with today's Wuyi Road as the boundary, with Changsha County in the north and Hua Shan County in the south. These two counties are divided into the same city. At that time, Changsha was long and narrow, long from north to south and narrow from east to west, but the distance between north and south was not far. There is an old saying in Changsha, "From the south gate to the north gate, it is seven miles and three points."
Although Changsha is small, we can still find the difference between the north and the south today. .
The people in the south gate scolded some malicious words.
Hawking's difference is only one detail in the difference between North and South. Why is the voice of the south gate tinker low? It may be because there are more tickets in the pockets of Nanmen people, so they are full of confidence.
Since ancient times, the difference between the south city and the north city of Changsha has been very obvious-the Bajiaoting area in the south has always been the commercial center of Changsha, and the business in the south city is more developed than that in the north city, and the population density is higher than that in the north city.

Because of this, people near the south gate are more willing to spend money and wear foreign clothes than northerners. In summer weather, men near the north gate are shirtless, while men near the south gate are shirtless, and most of them are naked and show their chests.
Even people in the south gate and the north gate curse new words differently. The people in the south gate cursed the new words severely. When they scold, they bite their tongues, and their words are meticulous and stressed, which makes them look confident and condescending.
Now in the south gate area, listening to people in their eighties and nineties, you can still hear some ancient sounds. For example, when they pronounce "Jiang", "Xiang" and "Qian", their upper and lower teeth will bite tightly together, and then the sounds will be squeezed out through their teeth.
People at the south gate and the north gate have different accents. My brother's father, my name is Uncle Fish, and he has a deep understanding. Uncle Yu has been mixed with society since he was a child and has been soaking in teahouses all the year round. He said that people who drink tea in teahouses sometimes know whether they belong to the south gate or the north gate by listening to the speech. If someone quarrels, if you ask, "What do you want?" It belongs to the south gate. If you ask "What do you want?" , belonging to the north gate.
Uncle Fish has lived near the South Gate for decades. He said that many alleys in the south gate are crowded with experts. Not only is the business more developed than that in the north gate, but the cultural background is also deeper. There is a profession called "Night Song". The arrangement is very simple. It's a bit lively in the middle of the night, and it's often noisy in the middle of the night. Most of the time, it is an impromptu rap on the spot, telling some trivial things of ordinary people with the same old tune, or "fighting with the audience", joking with each other and talking about life. There is also a whole set of obscene tunes such as Eighteen Touches.
This skill has been basically lost in Changsha. At that time, there were only such artists in South Gate. People who die in the north gate usually come to the south gate to ask them to sing. Uncle Fish still remembers a "Night Song". Once, he drank a little wine and read it out in imitation of that tone. Every word has a definite ending, which sounds more lasting than everyday language:
The moon is afraid of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the year is afraid of the fifteenth.
Bright paper windows are afraid of wind drums.
The hut is afraid of snow to carry it.
Men are afraid of this disease.
There's a saying in Changsha called "Beggars from the South Emperor to the North"
The south gate is more prosperous than the north gate, as it has been since ancient times.
In recent years, many archaeological discoveries in Wuyi Square show that Bajiaoting area has been the central city of Changsha since the Han Dynasty. Wang Fu, built in Wuyi Square in the Ming Dynasty, covers most of the area south of Wuyi Road, all the way to Renmin West Road, only a small part north of Wuyi Road, near today's Zijing Street.
Since ancient times, from the perspective of geomantic omen, the southeast direction of Changsha is better than the northwest direction, because the terrain is high in the south and low in the north, the south is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the wind blows in from the north. So in the past, more old yamen were built in the south than in the north. There are only provincial government offices in Fubei Street and Changsha county government offices in friendship village in the north, and Hua Shan county government offices, grain government offices and academy government offices in the south. There are also several military yamen, such as Dusi Yamen and Guerrilla Yamen, which are all built in the south of Wuyi Road.

There is a long-standing folk saying about the geomantic omen in Changsha. When uncle fish was a child, he heard his mother say that Changsha was not good at feng shui. High in the south and low in the north, high in the south and low in the east. The terrain of the whole city is inclined to Xiangjiang River, and the west is blocked by Yuelu Mountain, so there are not many celebrities in Changsha. Many so-called Changsha celebrities have been born around Changsha.
Uncle Fish spent most of his life on Tao. He thinks that most of the underworld people in Changsha have no future. Although the name is very loud, it is actually just a small fight. "It can't be a big deal." However, it is true that there are more "skulls" (arrogant and unreasonable people) in the south gate than in the north gate. He said that after liberation, there were three places in Changsha called skull and bones, and the south gate occupied two places, namely Liucheng Bridge and Nanmenkou, with only Beizheng Street in the north. It's all in the teahouse. Changsha people like to join in the fun. They all went there when they heard that there were many skulls. Sitting in a teahouse is not afraid to brag.
Later, there were more teahouses and snack bars from Huangxing South Road to Pozi Street, such as Yuan Yin, Aiqun and An Deyu. These are called skulls, and they all gather here. Uncle Fish remembers that when I was a child, that is, in the 1970s and 1980s, only two stores in Changsha were open all night, both in the south. One is the comprehensive canteen in the south gate, which was later renamed as "anniversary hotel", and the other is the red star cold drink shop in Fanxi Lane.

Zhongshan Road in the north was once brilliant.
In the 1970s and 1980s, there were more "famous brothers" in the South Gate than in the North Gate, such as "Ten Brothers", "Five Tigers", so-and-so record, so-and-so treasure, so-and-so grass and so on. They didn't know what to do, but they didn't come to the north gate. Especially 1983, the condor heroes are very popular, and the south gate says that Changsha "has beggars in the south and beggars in the north".
On the road, the south gate and the north gate have been at odds, and so has the business, competing with each other, tearing down the platform and not cooperating. Because Changsha was very small at that time, to put it bluntly, there were always people on both sides who knew or had relations, so some minor disputes were generally settled through mediation.
But by 1980, the feud between the south gate and the north gate was deep, and mediation was useless, so it must be resolved through duel. The "civil war" happened under such circumstances.
Finally, let's talk about civil war. Let me talk about my personal opinion first. I don't think it's accurate to say "Southern Emperor Beggars in the North". Although the economy in the north is not as good as that in the south, there are many peddlers and pawns, but there are also many intellectuals and officials in the north. The most obvious example is that there are a considerable number of luxury houses, such as Xiyuan Beili, Jiuruli and Shijian Tou.

There are no fewer celebrities living in the north than those living in the south. The more dignitaries are, the less lively they are, and the quieter the north is. Therefore, in terms of culture and education, the North Gate and the South Gate are equally divided. The number of schools is slightly more than that of the south gate, and the number of large hospitals is not less than that of the south gate.
Business in the north is also very good. During the Republic of China, the Chinese goods exhibition hall on Zhongshan Road was very foreign, with western-style cafes and cinemas. The best billiards table in Changsha is in Zhongshan Park, which is now the Youth Palace. The first asphalt road in Changsha is Zhongshan Road, followed by Cai E Road and Huangxing Road. In the 1980s, Zhongshan Road, north of Wuyi Road, was once prosperous for a period of time, when the momentum was comparable to that of the South Gate. Zhongshan Road Department Store is also the first department store with annual sales exceeding 100 million in Changsha.

At that time, there were Yingong Cinema, Youth Palace, friendship village, Xiangjiang Hotel and Zhongshan Road Department Store along Zhongshan Road, which were crowded all day and very lively. Especially in another village, it is the first restaurant in Changsha to make morning tea. At that time, the most exotic sentence in Changsha was "Would you please invite me to another village for morning tea?" If the sea is a bit small, just say, "Let's go!" Ordinary people are silent. Because there is morning tea in another village, you can sip your salary for half a month.
But then Zhongshan Road Department Store closed down somehow, and Zhongshan Road declined. Later, the transformation of Wuyi Square was even worse, and Huangxing North Road was devastated.
As for Wanda now, I can only say hehe (give me some advertising fees and I will change my mind. See you at the pier in the south).
The so-called "civil war"
1980, the "underworld" between the north and the south went to war on a large scale. Hundreds of people were dispatched from both sides, some with spears, some with machetes and even shotguns, and they fought all over Changsha.
There is no reason, but the feud is too deep, and neither side can see the other. During that time, as soon as the loafers at the north gate and the south gate met, they fought without saying anything. Many people were injured and their hands and feet were broken all over the street. But it seems that there is no murder, which is still commendable.
As for how long it lasted, to be honest, I don't know. Some people say it is a few months, others say it is a few days. Anyway, during the crackdown on 1983, many people were arrested. One of them is the later famous "Jianweicao".
At that time, the public security brigade of the Public Security Bureau focused on this case, which was later known as "Uncle Fang". In the civil war, no one dominated the south gate and the north gate. But it makes the two of them.
The vagrants in Changsha, from petty theft gangs in the 1960s to the "Thirteen Pacific Insurance" in the name of the country during the Cultural Revolution, actually have no triad shadow. However, after the civil war, gangs with underworld nature began to appear, and vagrants not only gradually organized, but also learned to ask for umbrellas.
I will share the details of Jian Wei Cao and the civil war with you after asking someone who knows better.
