Introduction to Xiaoxiang Tower

The Xiaoxiang Building was first built in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. The current building was rebuilt in the early years of the Republic of China. It is a brick-wood structure with a combination of Chinese and Western styles, with a construction area of ??more than 100 square meters. There is an original patio behind the building. There is a well in the patio, named Hydrangea Well, which was filled up and destroyed in the 1970s. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, it was a gathering place for literati and poets. In 1985, it was returned to the management of the Education Commission. In 2003, the county party committee and county government decided to transfer Xiaoxiang Tower to the county cultural relics department for management. In 2009, the Qiyang County Cultural Relics Bureau moved here, and it is now a cultural relics protection unit in Yongzhou City.
