Analysis on the reasons of abundant ice and snow resources in Altay from the perspective of topography and climate

Altay region is located in the northern part of Xinjiang, at the southern foot of Altay Mountain. Altai Mountain is relatively high above sea level, which is influenced by the westerly airflow from the Atlantic Ocean (and the airflow from the Arctic Ocean). The high altitude places in mountainous areas blocked the airflow and formed precipitation. Because of the high altitude here, precipitation appears in the form of snow and accumulates in high altitude mountainous areas. Because Altay is near here, we can develop the ice and snow resources here.
