In the fifty-fifth year of Qianlong (A.D. 1790), Huang Guoliang chose a site near his former residence in Tongling Village and built two mansions, with a project cost of 13300 taels of silver. The main hall is hung with a gold plaque inscribed by Qianlong on the second place. In the first year of Jiaqing (1796), Huang Guoliang used 13300 silver to build a three-story square earth building about 600 meters northwest of the second-class mansion, named "Qing Yu Building". At about this time, 39-year-old Huang Guoliang died. Cause of death is unknown. The coffin was escorted back home by officials sent by the imperial court. Mourning music and drums were played along the way, and 18 Java bronze bell rang solemnly and buried. It was buried in Tongling barrels and plates, and then transferred to Lingwei Daping.
Chaoyang Building, the ancestral home of Huang Guoliang, still retains two stone flagpoles (octagonal) and one stone flagpole (quadrangular), which is a precious historical witness, especially the second one. It can be said that it is a very rare martial arts cultural relic in Zhangzhou. Zhong Teng, the village party secretary, said that after Huang Guoliang won the second place, young talents in his hometown followed his example and formed a vigorous social atmosphere of martial arts. Everyone practices boxing, pursues progress, emphasizes martial arts and shows integrity. Not only Zhong Teng's village, but also the students nearby are studying. At that time, readers were often encouraged by "Can Zhong Teng (be famous) and see Xiping (the offspring of studying in two yamen)". In the late Qing Dynasty (1775), Huang Guoliang was admitted as a scholar at the age of 19. Gan Longding Younian (1777) was admitted to Zhongwu Juren at the age of 2/kloc-0; Gan Long was in the year of Xin Chou (178 1 year). At the age of 25, he took the examination for Xin Chou's entrance to Beijing and was a scholar in high school. In the same year, he won the first prize and the second prize in the imperial court examination. He was awarded the title of "First-class Guard with Knife" by Emperor Qianlong for his stunt of "Kuixing Kicking Dou". After Huang Guoliang was sealed, Cai Xin, a college student in Wenhua Temple and a native of Zhangpu, was overjoyed and wrote a pair of couplets praising: "Antudun people respected the old and loved their relatives, so they followed the ancient law and learned from the past, which really inspired their families." Cai Xin regards Huang Guoliang as the pride of his hometown and has forged a profound friendship with Huang Guoliang. Today, the original couplets are still preserved in the Huang's Grand Ancestral Hall in Taiping Village, Daping. Huang Guoliang likes the scenery of his hometown. During the reign of Qianlong Jiaqing (1784), when he returned to his hometown to visit his mother, he visited the nearby scenic spot "Shijing Palace" and tasted the sweet spring known as the first spring of Taiping. He wrote the words "Shijing Shengquan" on the stone wall behind the palace. This handwriting is still there today and has become a scenic spot in Shijing Palace.
During his tenure, Huang Guoliang often served Emperor Qianlong, followed up with traveling incognito to observe people's feelings, devoted himself to his duties, and showed his merits. It is said that in the year of Renzi in Qianlong (1792), the southern yellow border chaos threatened the security of the south China, and the people were miserable. The court ordered Huang Guoliang to go to Yunnan as a magistrate. He lived up to his mission and quickly put down the rebellion. Encouraged by harmony, the border areas are peaceful and the people live a happy life. Huang Guoliang died in the first year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty (1795) at the age of 39. There are different causes of death in folklore. The most widely circulated legend is that he was upright, honest and conscientious before his death, offended the powerful and was regarded as a thorn in their side to usurp power, so that he was assassinated by a traitor of the imperial court and died unfortunately. Huang Guoliang died young, and Emperor Qianlong was deeply saddened by his death. He was given a grand burial, and the court sent officials to escort his coffin back to his hometown. Along the way, he played funeral music, played drums and knocked eighteen Javanese bronze bells as a gesture of goodwill. At first, he was buried in his hometown Tongling, and then moved to Lingwei Daping. Later generations left a poem praising him: "Public farming, Lingyun determined to learn martial arts; Qunying topped the list and appointed the imperial bodyguard Lang; It's wonderful to kick the stars, and the dragon and the phoenix rise. "
Zhongteng Village, Xiazhai Town, where the second prize mansion is located, is 26 kilometers away from the county seat and 7 kilometers away from Xiazhai Town, with beautiful scenery and outstanding people. It is said that Huang Guoliang tried his best to show his loyalty and achievements after being appointed as a "bodyguard with a knife". In recognition of his contribution, Emperor Qianlong gave him silver 13300 Liang, and in Gengxu's reign (1790), he chose Zhongteng Village (formerly known as Tongling Village), a treasure trove of geomantic omen, and built a building. Then he gave 13300 two pieces of silver, and built a three-story earth building, Qing Yu Building, about 300 meters northwest of the second-class mansion. After the completion of 1796, the clans and relatives of Huang Guoliang lived here. In addition, a stone flagpole was erected in front of Chaoyang Building, Huang Guoliang's ancestral home, to show his glory.
The second place in Huang Guoliang is resplendent. It is an outstanding palace-style building which is carefully designed by the ancients, integrates the concept of "harmony between man and nature", borrows the meaning of scenery and is full of humanistic connotation. The mansion is magnificent, covering an area of more than ten acres, with architectural style in the mid-Qing Dynasty, carved beams and painted buildings in the house, which is unique; Exquisite colored paintings, resplendent and magnificent; The landscape of the gatehouse has far-reaching influence; Humanistic connotation is extremely rich; The mansion has a beautiful environment, with Xiping Mountain as its back, Wangyue Mountain as its west, the famous Shuangfeng Mountain (also known as Shuangjian Mountain) in Pinghe County at an altitude of 1000 meters in the north, and Jingzi Mountain as its south, which looks like a pen. Looking down from a height, the whole two mansions are indeed a treasure trove of geomantic omen surrounded by green mountains and green waters, with infinite scenery, three earth buildings connected and unique scenery.
The second main building is a palace-style main hall, with rooms on the south and north sides, a square in front, a courtyard wall around it, and a special gatehouse in the north, facing the capital. About 5 meters away from the courtyard wall, there are two large ponds with an area of more than one mu in the west, south and north of the gatehouse, which are equipped with two octagonal stone flagpoles and a quadrilateral stone flagpole respectively. The layout of the whole mansion looks like a giant crab lying in the water. From the north, approaching Eryanfu, and climbing the 3J steps, you will find the unique design of the "Twin Peaks and Towers" gatehouse (named after the Twin Peaks facing the distance), with exquisite long slates, stone pedestals, stone doorposts, stone plaques, and delicate diagonal brick walls made of blue bricks, with three layers of upturned blue tile cornices, forming a palace-style structure. There are two square stone rafters on each side of the gate of the gatehouse. Two trees, two stones and four columns are built as a frame, a rain-proof doorway is constructed, green tiles are laid, and a layer of upturned eaves ridge is designed, which is painted with patterns, forming the characteristics of eaves and upstairs buildings with the gatehouse. Walking past the gatehouse is the Mansion Square, covering an area of about 370 square meters. It is edged with slate strips and paved with red bricks. The south, west and north walls are surrounded by blue bricks, and the courtyard wall centered on the west direction is built with three ridges, with heights of 2.52m, 2.18m and1.78m respectively. East of the square is the main building of the building. Starting from the square, you have to climb five stone steps before you can walk into the lobby of the building. The stone steps are paved with 2.46-meter-long cyan marble, with 0.4-meter-wide slates on both sides, forming a smooth slope. There are a pair of big stone lions at the entrance of the hall, with exquisite gatekeepers and great momentum. The main hall of the mansion is designed as a stepped two-way lobby (symbolizing the first and second place in the court examination), with an area of about 400 square meters. In the lobby of the main hall of the mansion, a couplet praising Huang Guoliang is engraved on the left and right main columns: Jiangxia branch is in Guangjiadi, and Tongling Yan School encourages family style. The lower doorpost is engraved with a couplet: a poem through the ages, a thousand years of cigarettes locking white clouds. There is a side room at the entrance of the lower hall, and two eaves stand on the patio side corresponding to the gate, which are upright in diameter and support the thick wooden beam stack, which is magnificent. Inside and outside the main building of the mansion, there are carved beams and painted buildings, with ancient figures such as dragons and phoenixes, wood carvings such as flowers, birds, fish and insects, flying ladies, etc., colored paintings on the eaves, plum blossom patterns on the Shimen column, and powerful and realistic military commanders and guards at the gate; Plastic cornices on the roof, roof, double dragons playing with beads. The whole building is dominated by stone strips, with blue bricks as walls and selected high-quality wood as beams. The carpentry rack room is ingenious, and the wood is folded into a beam without an iron nail. The roof wood is 6 cm thick, which is very strong and beautiful. Masons are also good at building walls. Slates and blue bricks are carefully selected. For example, the materials used for blue bricks have to go through three levels: uniform thickness, straightness (if there is slight deformation, they will be eliminated) and hand-grinding. Therefore, there is a legend that "Tongling Second Eye Building grinds blue bricks to do foreign (fine) work". At present, the masonry wall of the second house is still very strong, and the tightness between bricks is very high, so it is difficult to insert it with a blade.
A side door is opened on the north and south sides of the upper hall of the mansion to communicate with the side room, and the side room on both sides is designed with three entrances and patios, of which the first entrance next to the square is the big room; Entering the second entrance needs to pass through a stone gate aligned with the wall of the main building, and there is a channel made of goose egg stone with a width of about 3 meters in the stone gate on the south and north sides; The second entrance and the third entrance are both a big room, two small rooms, and a veranda (symbolizing the first and second place in the entrance examination); On the back wall of the third entrance passage, there is a round well with a steady stream of spring water. Xiaojing is like a crab's eye, vivid in image. The wall brick of the side room is the same as that of the government hall, with a wall thickness of 0.4 cm. Sealed with double-layer bricks, consistent inside and outside, all bricks are stuck on the wall, and the middle is filled with concrete, which is very strong. There are Yong Men in front of the north and south side rooms of the mansion, which are entitled "Planting laurel" and "Cultivating orchids" respectively. They are elegant and show good family education. At that time, the second courtyard of the south room of the mansion was planted with cypress and osmanthus trees, and the north room was planted with pine and magnolia trees, which added yellow-green natural embellishment to the mansion and showed great vitality.
