Extended data
Mauremys mutica, the most primitive and oldest species, is called "ancient stone turtle" among the people. It is believed that this kind of turtle, like the money turtle, has the geomantic function of helping breeders improve their wealth and career. The biggest feature of mauremys mutica is that it has a pair of bottom plates, and almost every bottom shell is in the form of lines or blocks.
Because it is very close to the _ _ color bottom of the three-line closed-shell turtle (but only the three-line closed-shell turtle is called the money turtle in southern China), the people of Guangdong and Guangxi also call this stone turtle with _ _ color bottom the authentic money turtle, which is one of the reasons why mauremys mutica is collectively called the "stone turtle" and "stone money" in some southern areas.
