Why can't there be a toilet on the balcony?

I have never paid attention to this issue before. I feel that it is natural to install a toilet in the bathroom. The balcony is not a bathroom, so why is there a question about whether to install a toilet or not?

If the balcony is set up as a bathroom, then what is there if it doesn’t have a toilet?

Of course, in reality, the bathroom is located where the bathroom is, and the balcony is another separate part.

As for why toilets cannot be installed on balconies, the reasons are as follows:

First, balconies are generally glass rooms, and there is no way to use them even if a toilet is installed. The glass must be modified. Make it opaque, otherwise there will be neither privacy nor civility.

Secondly, the sewer pipe of the toilet must be connected to the septic tank of the community, but there is no such pipe on the balcony. It is usually a pipe for rainwater and domestic sewage. This pipe does not have a toilet drain. If the pipe is thick and the caliber is not suitable, it will not be possible to install the toilet.

Third, it is a design issue. The balcony was not originally designed as a bathroom. Not only were the pipe diameters wrong, but the structural strength and waterproofing requirements were also different. According to the relevant provisions of the current "Residential Interior Decoration and Decoration Management Measures", it is prohibited to change a room or balcony that does not have waterproof requirements into a bathroom or kitchen.

Fourth, in the general concept of family Feng Shui, urination and defecation are still relatively dirty things, and the location of the balcony is generally in the south, on the sunny side, which ranks first in Feng Shui. Changing this location into a bathroom is quite influential in Feng Shui. Even in rural areas, toilets are built behind the house.

Moreover, if the balcony is converted into a bathroom, it must be shielded, which may affect the lighting of the family, because it is difficult to convert other places into a balcony. If you want to add glass, you have to smash the wall, which not only increases the cost, but is also almost never allowed.

In fact, unless a unit building is renovated on the balcony, it is difficult to achieve it for one household alone. Unless a separate pipe is connected, the cost is still not small.

So, the balcony will generally not be converted into a bathroom, nor can a toilet be installed, unless it is a small single-yard building built by oneself in the countryside, then you can make any changes you want.
