I remember when I was a child, my family lived in an alley near Xinjiekou in Xicheng. It was a small quadrangle with two entrances. Because of the fire, my grandmother was seriously injured and was admitted to the hospital. In order to meet the high medical expenses at home, the whole yard had to be sold. Later, the money was still not enough, so I had to sell the house I lived in again. Since then, my family began to rent a house, when I was just born.
In my impression, the rented house is also near Xinjiekou, and there are five neighbors in the yard. In my memory, it was a gray bungalow courtyard, but it was not in the form of a quadrangle, just a courtyard composed of two rows of houses. It seems that every family's housing is tight, but the neighbors are like a family.
The most difficult thing about living there is that it is very difficult to fetch water. You have to walk to the alley about 200 meters away from home to pick up tap water, and then carry the water home with a pole. The place where tap water is connected is the only tap water tap in Hutong within a few hundred meters of Fiona Fang, Fiona Fang. Summer is easy, but winter can be painful. At night, someone should wrap the faucet with straw rope to prevent the water pipe from freezing and cracking. The next morning, pour hot water on the tap. Melt all the ice inside and outside the water pipe, or the faucet will freeze and you won't be able to turn it. At that time, my middle school sister used two buckets to help her mother carry water every day. Now every time I tell this story to my child, he feels as incredible as a fable. The younger generation only knows that the tap water of every household is connected at home. The new house we are buying now not only has running water, but also uses hot spring water. You can soak in hot springs comfortably at home at any time, which you never dreamed of before.
Public transportation decades ago was also very inconvenient. If you want to take the bus when you go out from my house, you should walk at least 15 to 20 minutes and cross the street to get to the bus stop.
1968, after the Cultural Revolution, our family moved to Wen Hui Garden near Xiaoxitian. Although the housing environment has changed, the traffic is still very inconvenient. The only thing that makes me happy is that there is a faucet in the yard. My family no longer has to carry water in the distance, so I was excited for several days. Although I have never carried water, I am very happy for my sister when I think that she will never have to carry water from afar again.
197 1 When I was in middle school, my family moved to Xuanwai Street near Caishikou in Xuanwu District. Although the traffic is convenient this time, the orientation of the house is very bad. It's hot in Leng Xia in winter, and it's on the roadside, noisy and chaotic. In this way, seven years passed, and by the end of 1978, my father had returned to Beijing from the cadre school to return to work. And my father's unit also gave us a house. In this way, our family moved to the vicinity of Baita Temple in Xicheng District. Although it seemed that this small two-bedroom apartment was quite good at the time. The transportation and life here are very convenient, and colleagues and friends around us envy us and congratulate us on living in the new building. Because there weren't so many tall buildings in Beijing at that time. Many people live in crowded bungalows.
After decades, Beijing is not what it used to be. Especially since 2 1 century, China's economic construction has developed rapidly. Beijing, which keeps pace with the times, has changed so much that even I, a man in my fifties who grew up in an alley, don't know where I used to live. It also makes those of us who have lived in Beijing for a long time feel proud and proud.
Now I have retired. When I have nothing to do, I will go back to the place where I once lived. I always want to personally feel the great changes in Beijing, which have brought me surprises and shocks. I bought a bicycle for the convenience of wearing hutong. In my spare time, I rode my bike and began to revisit the old place, looking for the warm childhood in the past impression, looking for people and things left in my heart in the past years, and looking for everything in my memory. ...
Visit the former residence of Hutong in the order of moving. The first place to go is the hutong near Xinjiekou. I want to find the hutongs and quadrangles where I lived as a child, and I want to relive my happy life as a child. However, the large gray hutongs and bungalows left in childhood memories are long gone, replaced by yellow-brown buildings. The old neighborhood has moved into this new building. Even the name of the hutong has changed. Now it's called Xinjiekou Xili, and the only hutong I can recognize should be the Great Temple. Then everything in the past can only stay in my childhood memory.
Leaving Xinjiekou, I came to Wen Hui Garden in Xiaoxitian, which is not what it used to be. In the past, rows of gray houses and courtyards have become residential buildings, and even the farmland of Dongsheng commune has built large buildings. The streets in Xiaoxitian are all connected with buses now, and it is no longer a place with inconvenient transportation. Even Taiping Lake Park, which I used to play when I was a child, has now become a parking lot of the subway company. The small courtyard where my family once lived has long since ceased to exist, leaving me with a completely different impression from my memory.
Go south along the road from Xiaoxitianwai, pass Xinjiekou, Xisi and Xidan, and then go south. Not far beyond the Inner Second Ring Road, it is Xuanwai Street where my family once lived for seven years. The past is long gone, and now this road has already become a wide urban traffic trunk line. The bungalow where my family used to live on the roadside and the grocery store next to it are gone. There are many tall buildings on both sides of the road, which is a modern metropolis. It turns out that the department store in the northeast of the T-junction of Caishikou is the place I used to go after dinner. Due to the urban planning and expansion, the shopping mall has now moved to Baiguang Road, Guang 'anmen, and developed into the first shopping mall in Jingjin, which is famous for its gold business.
Today, with the rapid economic development in China, people's lives have undergone tremendous changes. The environment in which we live is not what it used to be. Take the vicinity of Baita Temple where my family lives now as an example. Before 2003, it was a century-old street built in the Qing Dynasty. The bungalows and courtyards on both sides of the road in Hutongli are small and dirty. With the establishment of the financial and business district in Xicheng District, the hutongs around my home have been demolished, and high-rise buildings have mushroomed. These towering buildings form the famous financial street in Beijing. Those old neighborhoods that have lived here for many years bid farewell to the narrow and dilapidated bungalows and all moved into new buildings in the suburbs, completely changing the living environment. The establishment of the financial business circle is also a gold-lettered signboard in the west side of Beijing. Even Fuchengmennei Street, because of its heavy history and culture along the way, has also been decorated with antique, which looks a bit like the imperial city of old Beijing.
As for transportation, that's not to mention. My home is Metro Line 4 in the east, Metro Line 2 in the west and Metro Line 6 in the north. There are dozens of buses leading to any place you want to go, making it extremely convenient to travel.
After dinner, my family and I often walk along the newly-built financial street. Sometimes I will go to the street garden near the West Second Ring Road to enjoy the comfortable life of a modern metropolis. Nowadays, my family not only has good living conditions, but also has its own car in the year when my children graduated from college and joined the work. Finally, children will never live like I did when I was a child. Now we have lived in this old building for more than 30 years and are moving. Maybe it won't be long before we live in a new house with better conditions and a more beautiful environment.
Today, China is a flying dragon, and our great city, Beijing, is a dragon on high. Six years ago in 2008, we also successfully hosted the best Olympic Games in the history of the world Olympic Games in Beijing. I am proud that I am from Beijing.
Beijing is an open city, and Beijingers have a broad mind like the sea. With our love and kindness, we contain every compatriot from other places. At the same time, we sincerely thank the participants who helped us build a new Beijing. Today's beautiful Beijing is not only the pride of our Beijingers, but also the pride of the people of the whole country. In the mighty army of building a new Beijing, there are brothers and sisters from all over the country. The rapid development of Beijing is also inseparable from these peasant brothers. They also contributed to Beijing today. I believe that in the near future, Beijing, a modern big city, will be more beautiful and prosperous. Our country will also be stronger, and it deserves to be called the giant of the East.
Seeing the great changes around me, my heart is full of joy. The gray hutongs and bungalows in my childhood left me warmth; The laughter of the old neighborhood brought me warmth; The pigeon whistle and cicada singing in summer make me happy; Will be deeply engraved in my memory forever.
Beijing-My dear hometown, I love your yesterday and today, and I love your tomorrow even more!
