Hong Xiuquan's descendants changed their surname to Liao in western Guangdong.

According to historical records, when the capital of Tianjing was broken, Hong Xiuquan's whole family was killed, and no one was spared. However, some people think that when the city is broken, Hong Xiuquan has died of illness, and many of his concubines and children will not sit still, and there will definitely be survivors. But I haven't visited the descendants of the king for a long time.

By chance, a reporter discovered Cheng Dongrang, a descendant of Hong Xiuquan. At that time, Cheng Dongrang was a member of the Judicial Committee of the Higher People's Court of Anhui Province and the President of the Court of Appeal. President Cheng also told reporters a story about the hardships of his ancestors.

1July, 864, the Qing army captured Tianjing, and there was chaos in the city. A princess of Hong Xiuquan escaped from Tianjing with a boy in the refugee tide. This boy is the youngest son of Lai and Hong Xiuquan. Mother and son fled all the way to Dingyuan, Anhui Province, and because they had no life, they went to the landlord's house to be servants. On one occasion, the princess inadvertently revealed her life experience. She didn't want the landlord to have evil thoughts. She wanted to occupy the princess and kill Laixi. After the princess noticed it, she ran for her life all night and finally came to a place called Chengjiawan. A kind old couple brought them here. Seeing that the princess was young and helpless, the old woman introduced her to Cheng. Cheng is an honest farmer, and his wife just died in the village. Cheng He is loyal, filial and righteous. Cheng's third brother, Cheng, has been married for many years and has no children, so he adopted his son and named him Cheng. The children of the Cheng family are industrious and thrifty, and their days are getting better and better, and their brothers have also got married and started businesses one after another.

Cheng has been living with his mother since he got married. Cheng has five sons and two daughters, all of whom are very successful. Later, they gradually multiplied into a big school called Cheng. When the princess was in her seventies, she couldn't afford to get sick. Before she died, she called the children to bed, explained the secrets of the family to them, and told them to take strict care to prevent being killed.

After the princess died, the children and grandchildren kept the princess's will and never mentioned their family background. A successful family lives a long life. Cheng died at the age of 68 in 1924. The average age of his five sons is 90. The father of the youngest son, Cheng Dongrang, died on 1993 at the age of 92.

1993, when Cheng Jia revised the genealogy, he said that he would restore the Hong family at an appropriate time. 1997 1 In July, Hong Kong returned to China, and the Zheng family decided to restore Hong's surname on this big day. Cheng Dongrang was renamed Hong Dongrang. Today, Hong Xiuquan's successors mainly live in Antai Village, Wanxiang, a suburb of Huainan, Anhui, with more than 200 people.

After the news about Hong Xiuquan's descendants was reported, it attracted the attention of all parties, and Hong Dongrang became a celebrity. 1996, at the invitation of relatives in Shikeng Town, Meixian County, Guangdong Province, Hong Dongrang returned to Mei Kui, the ancestral home of Hong Xiuquan, to worship his ancestors. From 65438 to 0997, Hong Dongrang went to Mengshan, Guangxi to attend the International Symposium on Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and Patriotism.

There is another legend about the whereabouts of Hong Xiuquan's descendants. Legend has it that one day in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, a group of Japanese soldiers surrounded Hong Xiuquan's hometown in Guanlushen Village, Hua County, Guangdong Province, and the whole village was very frightened. At this time, a Japanese officer told everyone not to be afraid, saying that he was a descendant of Hong Xiuquan. When Tianjing fell, my great-grandfather fled to Japan and became a Japanese national. Before he came to China, his father told him that he must find his hometown and visit his elders. He also let people open the door of the Red Stone Ancestral Temple and kowtow and burn incense respectfully in front of the memorial tablet. He ordered Japanese soldiers not to disturb the village. When he left, he also asked for the Hong Family Tree, saying that he would take it back to study. Later, the genealogy was sent back, but it was a manuscript, which he had originally brought back to Japan. Whether this situation is true or not needs expert research. However, at the academic conference of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in 1979, Japanese Professor Kojima heard this story and thought it was true and credible, but Kojima did not explain what his basis was.
