The National Tower of the East Tower, a famous town, was built from the first year to the sixth year of Xian Tong in Tang Dynasty (86-865). It was originally a nine-level wooden tower. In the third year of Baoqing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1227), it was rebuilt as a seven-level brick tower. From the second year of Jiaxi in the Southern Song Dynasty to the tenth year of Chunyou (1238-125), it was transformed into a five-level stone pagoda. The West Tower is called Renshou Tower. It was built in the second year of Liang Zhenming in the Five Dynasties (916). It was originally a seven-level wooden tower. In the third year of Baoqing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1277), the brick tower was rebuilt. From the first year of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty to the first year of Jiaxi (1228-1237), it was converted into a five-level stone pagoda.
The East West Tower is an octagonal five-story wood-like pavilion, with a height of 48.27m and a height of 45.6m.. The pedestal, tower body and tower cover of the Twin Towers are all made of white granite. The two towers use 6293 cubic meters of stone, with a total weight of about 1951 tons. The tower foundation is thick and solid, and the Quanzhou earthquake in 164 (the 13th year of the Ming Wanli) was safe and sound. The two towers have eight sides and four doors on each floor, and the interlayer doors are staggered with the niches. The upper and lower cornices of the twin towers, the ridges, the arched arches, the lintel-blocking square and the Huai-lang goulan are connected with each other, which are meticulous and firm. The tower brake is cast in iron, with the height of 11.1 meters and 1.65 meters from the brake seat to the gilded gourd, and each department has eight big chains between the brake top and the cornice. The cornice angle is 8 metal bells.
The stone carvings of Buddhist art in the East West Tower are colorful. There are 16 reliefs on the walls of the Twin Towers, including bodhisattvas, arhats, King Kong, gods, eminent monks, converted emperors, princes, officials, lay people and Buddhist story figures, and there are 22 foil figures and animals in the middle. There are 8 watchmen carved between the eaves of the twin towers. There are 37 pictures of Buddha's biography, 48 pictures of dragons, phoenixes, lions, birds and flowers, and 16 dwarfs in the tower. There are reliefs on the elephant eye boards on both sides of the steps.
