Time flies, and it has been a year since the Baicao Garden opened last year. Accompanied by more than 500 kinds of herbs, we have witnessed the beautiful four seasons of materia medica growing in spring, growing in summer, fruiting in autumn, and hiding in winter; As more than 10,000 tourists came and went, we felt everyone's love for traditional Chinese medicine. "Turn herbal medicine into horticulture and transform traditional Chinese medicine into daily life", this is the founding concept of Baicao Garden, and "spread the culture of traditional Chinese medicine and lead a healthy life", this is the purpose of Baicao Garden. One year later, we are still committed to this concept and hope that more people can see the beauty of herbal medicine; we are still striving for this purpose and hope to contribute to the cause of popularizing traditional Chinese medicine.
Spring should be the most beautiful season in Beijing. A night of spring breeze brings endless green. It can be said that "the mountains and rivers are beautiful late in the day, and the flowers and plants are fragrant in the spring breeze". Yanqing enters the most lush spring half a month later than the urban area. It is almost this season that the herbs are also revived.
In the Wood Spring area, wood corresponds to cyan, spring and the east. The imitation bronze sculpture "One Yuan Returns to the Beginning" still faces the east, waiting for your arrival.
The consistent "one yuan begins again".
In spring, willow trees are the first to sprout. During the design, we deliberately planted several willow trees in the "Wood Spring Area" in order to witness the arrival of spring with them. People in many areas in the north have the habit of eating cold willow buds in spring. "Compendium of Materia Medica" records that willow is a low-grade herb, bitter in nature, cold in taste, and non-toxic. Willow leaves can clear away heat and detoxify, cure feng shui jaundice, diuretic dampness and reduce swelling. It has the functions of removing rash, diuresis, sores, carbuncles, swollen poison and other diseases. Spring is the season when Yang Qi rises, which can easily lead to strong liver fire. Therefore, the folk custom of eating willow buds is also a manifestation of the daily life of traditional Chinese medicine.
Willow is the first plant to sprout in spring.
Last year, in order to let the apricot trees bloom at the opening of the garden and tell the traditional Chinese medicine story of "spring in the apricot forest", we specially carried out plant temperature control processing to delay the flowering of the apricot trees until the opening of the garden. This year, the apricot trees grew normally and the flowering period was normal. They bloomed as scheduled on April 10.
The apricot blossoms that arrive as promised decorate the spring day in the Baicao Garden.
In Baicaoqian Mountain, last year, by changing the flowers every month, we achieved the beautiful scene of herbal flowers blooming every month. This year, a large area of ??ground cover chrysanthemums and a small patch of isatis root are in bloom on Baicao Mountain, with bright yellow flowers; poppies are also in bloom, dancing with their beautiful figures in the bright spring.
Last year we specially left a small patch of isatis root, which has now bloomed. ↓↓

Although it will take a few more months to see the stunning groundcover chrysanthemums blooming, they are now lush green. Climbing up Baicaoqian Mountain, you can not only have a panoramic view of Baicao Garden, but also overlook Yongning Pavilion, which is a great pleasure.
Climbing high and looking far, the top of Baicaoqian Mountain is definitely a rare viewing platform in the Expo.
In the famous prescription garden of "Summer of Fire", some plants have not fully recovered after a winter, but this does not diminish their charm as "famous prescriptions" of traditional Chinese medicine. Sangju Yin, a famous prescription for treating coughs caused by febrile diseases, is composed of mulberry leaves, chrysanthemums, almonds, forsythia, mint, platycodon, licorice, and reed root. It is also used as a recommended prescription by traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of COVID-19.
The flower beds filled with mulberry and chrysanthemums will become lush in summer.
When you come to Baicao Garden, you may see that some small jars are a little empty. That is because some medicinal plants are annuals and some are perennial. As for annual plants, we have re-sowed them, including peppers, ginger, motherwort, perilla, cassia, etc. I think you will see them looking lush and green in the summer.
Chinese herbal medicine is very common in life, and we often hear that "medicine and food have the same origin". Those familiar medicinal plants can also be seen in Baicao Garden.

Mint grows vigorously in spring.
Thistle is commonly known as prickly pear.
In the "Eternal Summer District of the Earth", do you still remember the steady and tall ginkgo tree? Now that it has sprouted, it must also like this land very much.
Let us wait together for this old ginkgo tree to flourish.
If you came to the Baicao Garden in May last year, you must have seen the graceful and luxurious peonies. Now many flower bones have sprouted, waiting to bloom, and some have already revealed a little pink. As precious trees in the Baicao Garden, the three hundred-year-old peonies are the most important check-in spots in the Baicao Garden in spring.
The graceful and luxurious peony is waiting for its exclusive spring day.
I really want to know what color peony it is.
