The historical town of Jing'an Town

Jing’an Town, Pei County, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province has a long history and a rich collection of humanities. The transportation and strategic location are very important, and it has always been a battleground for military strategists. The ancient Yellow River passed through here, leaving behind the legend of the stranded turtle. The building at the south end of the big market is called "Turtle Tower", which is related to the legend. Jing'an Ancient Town began in the Qin and Han Dynasties, under the jurisdiction of Xuzhou, and later under the jurisdiction of Tong and Pei. Jing'an has a long history, and there were villages as far back as the Qin and Han Dynasties. Relevant historical records include village names such as Diaozhuang, Hanzhuang, Maozhuang, Huodengzhuang, Xilizhuang, and Shenjiazhuang. After going through many vicissitudes of life, invaded by soldiers and bandits, and flooded by yellow water, nearby small villages gradually moved closer to the highland of Jing'an and built villages together. It is said that the collection has a history of four to five hundred years.

Emperor Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty (1506--1522) went out of Beijing to inspect and passed by here. Seeing that this was a geomantic treasure, he dismounted and took a rest. Before leaving, an old man who was greeting the emperor came forward to kowtow and asked for a name for the place. Emperor Zhengde glanced at the old man, smiled, then mounted his horse and left. Although the old man didn't hear the emperor's words, he saw the emperor's smile and the horse's fast saddle movements, so he had an idea and said to everyone: "The emperor is speechless, tight saddle only smiles, let's call him 'Tight saddle'" Very good."

It is also said that Qianlong passed by this place when he went to the south of the Yangtze River and stayed in "Jing'an". Long Yan was very happy. Named "Jing'an". Over time, the name Jing'an was named Jing'an, which has been passed down to this day. Jing'an Town is a famous business center in the north of Xuzhou. Jing'an Town is located at the junction of Feng, Pei and Tong counties, and is close to Shandong, Anhui and Henan provinces. It has always been a gathering place for businesses. According to historical records: "Jing'an Ji was built in the fourth year of Xianfeng (AD 1854), seventy-five miles northwest of the city (referring to Pengcheng). It used to belong to five townships and had fifty-two villages under its jurisdiction." The land here is fertile, the climate is pleasant, the people are hardworking, and the customs are simple. Because it is the key to the north gate of Xuzhou, it has always been a battleground for military strategists. From the conflict between Chu and Han to the decisive battle at Huaihai, Jing'an was won first, and Xuzhou was won later. It is about seventy miles away from Feng, Pei, Xiao, Dang and Tongshan. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the jurisdictions at that time included Heqiao and Huangji in Tongshan; Cuizhai, Zhangzhuang and Mengzhuang in Peixian County; Fanlou, Liangzhai and Jinling in Fengxian County. The location advantages were very obvious. As a result, merchants from all over the world gathered here, and many Shanxi and Huizhou merchants set up branches here. It is a famous historical town, an important town in northern Jiangsu, and Baili Daji.

Shops are lined up here, and goods are piled up. Not only Xuzhou's Guangjitang Pharmacy has branches here, but Shanxi's Quantai, Taishun and other merchants also come here to sell cloth, groceries, etc. In the 1920s, after Fengjun general Zhu Yuxian was discharged and returned to his fields, he built a three-story commercial building with 11 rooms on the top and bottom in the town, known as the 33-room building. There are many shops on the cross streets in Jing'an. Many of the products in the northwest area of ??Xuzhou are here as a distribution center, so the prosperity of commerce is particularly developed compared to other Fengfei counties!
