Jinghong’s Jinghong:

Born in Yantai, Shandong Province in 1946, Han nationality, famous seal cutting artist, nomenclature expert, calligrapher, painter and writer. He has been practicing art for more than 40 years and started seal carving at the age of 12. He has studied under famous masters such as Guo Moruo, Lan Jusun, Zong Baihua, Zang Kejia, Zhao Fu and Wu Lanying. He has carved seals for many celebrities such as Guo Moruo, Mao Dun, Ba Jin, Ouyang Shan, Guan Shanyue, and former Japanese Prime Minister Ohira Masayoshi. Formerly the editor of "Liaoning Daily", he is currently the vice chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Society and the vice president of the Guangdong Provincial Calligraphy and Painting Professional Committee. He practiced the artistic pursuit of "traveling thousands of miles, collecting thousands of castes, and carving seals of thousands of families", and established the world's first surname museum and totem museum in Guangzhou. And established Jinghong Art Museum in Panyu District, Guangzhou City.

Jing Hong is the organizer of China's first "Personal Hard-tipped Calligraphy Exhibition" and the first author in the country to publish a hard-tipped calligraphy dictionary. He has more than 20 books. He is the author of the largest seal-cutting work in history, and he is also the most innovative seal-cutting master with outstanding artistic achievements in my country. On April 16, 1994, he spent two years to carve the full text of Laozi's "Tao Te Ching" into 1,109 seals, which caused a sensation in the national art world and wrote a brilliant page in the history of Chinese seal cutting. By June 1998 In February 1999, Mr. Jing Hong spent eight and a half months enlarging and engraving 1,109 seals and the full text of Laozi's "Tao Te Ching" on the 33-meter-high and 18-meter-wide Yundong Rock in Zhangzhou, Fujian, creating the world's largest seal. Seal cutting work - "Yundongyan Cliff Seal Engraving".

Jing Hong has extensive research on religious art, Feng Shui, and the Book of Changes. He has designed and funded the construction of Penglai Baishen Palace, Lushun Shanhaijing Palace, and Yingkou Ancient Chinese Military Exhibition Palace, and has been widely praised by all walks of life. Named the most influential artist in 2008.

Teacher Jing Hong is not only highly accomplished in seal cutting, but also a master in painting. Jing Hong was transferred to Liaoning Daily as a supplement editor in the early 1970s. At that time, young people who loved literature were like crucian carp crossing the river, and they surrounded him in large numbers. He was like a godfather guiding the country. At that time, he supported many literary young people, but he did not train a single seal-cutting student. Thirty years later, when I met him in Panyu, I saw a table full of his Jinshi disciples. These disciples came to toast him one after another, which was a pious gratitude and blessing.

Meanwhile, there was a dwarf among his disciples, his name was Dashi (the name given to him by Master Jing Hong), and he begged for food at the gate of Jing Hong’s engraving society in Guangzhou. Perhaps because he was from Shandong, or perhaps because there was a connection between gold and stone in his eyes, Teacher Jing Hong invited him into the room and asked him if he wanted to come and learn skills. Dashi stared with big eyes and thought for a long time but still couldn't figure it out. He said he would go back and think about it and give an answer in two days. As a result, he came two days later.

When talking about this matter, Teacher Jing Hong did not express his contribution. He still said with a smile on his face that it was a kind of fate.

Peace, is it a character or a state? When he was young, Jing Hong was peaceful and did not like to talk. When he was old, Jing Hong was still so peaceful and taciturn. He now has wealth, both material and spiritual.

However, who would have thought that he was a senior editor of a provincial party newspaper in the Northeast and wandered on the road for three years, thus becoming a legend as a seal cutting artist.

Along the way, he and his wife experienced countless hardships through ups and downs, but they never changed their peace as always. Even when he talks about sadness, his voice is calm and soft. His wife, on the other hand, would truly convey the unfairness of time to them in an emotional tone.

From a senior editor to a famous Lingnan seal cutting artist at home and abroad, this period not only involves the ups and downs of life, but also the in-depth forging of a soul. Now in his sixties, Jing Hong still looks like he did when he was young, smiling like a Buddha.

Sure enough, his peace is related to the Buddha. I calmed down and read through the four books Jing Hong published in the past few years, one of which was "Experiences of the Diamond Sutra". This is the Diamond Sutra translated by him. Master Hsing Yun wrote the inscription for this book: "With the compassionate desire to save all people, the light of the Buddha shines on the five continents."

Jing Hong also conducted research on Chinese studies.

His seal cutting art is based on this profound research and understanding. Therefore, his seal carvings have unique artistic charm. For example, he published the "Three Character Classic" on seal cutting art. This classic was carved with his seal. This idea is unique, and what is even more unique is the seal he designed based on the content. For example, the seal "The Beginning of Man" is engraved thick and natural, giving it a sense of ancient simplicity; while the seal "Nature is Good" has elegant brushwork and elegant sword skills. You won’t feel a trace of bending or distortion; the square seal of “If you don’t teach, it’s the father’s fault” is divided into two parts, each part has three characters, which are distinguished by yin and yang inscriptions. In terms of structure, not only the appearance relationship has a simple aesthetic significance, but the inner meaning is even more thought-provoking. The ingenuity of the seal carver is enough to guess.

His other seal cutting monograph "Collection of Books" is his exquisite transmission of Eastern culture and reading psychology. The seal "Ba Jin presents book" is small and simple, and has torn edges on all four corners. Does it mean accessibility? It immediately reminds me of the demeanor of this short, lean literary giant. He once signed a sketch of him: "Ba Jin: a little old man." ; There is also the seal of the writer Shi Wan, the word "Wan" is engraved in a nine-winding ileum.

Jing Hong always moves forward in persistent exploration or stubborn practice. He has carved about 20,000 square meters of seals,

It will be a thrilling ocean when spread out. "The House Seal", "The Couple Seal" and "The Departure Seal"
