During the Southern Dynasties, people in the Liang Dynasty wanted to abandon their official positions and live in seclusion. Later, their brother came here to live in seclusion and died in this mountain, hence the name Heshan.
Zhang Shicheng
Leader of peasant uprising at the end of yuan dynasty. On 16th of Zheng Zhi (1356), Suzhou was pacified, with its capital as king and the title of "Big Week". During the Soviet period, the people benefited and sheltered. Suzhou people feel their kindness and build a king's temple, which is dedicated every year.
Xu Lixian
Contemporary famous tanci artist. Born in a poor family in Suzhou, he studied art and storytelling in his early years and joined the Shanghai People's Pingtan Group after liberation. She kept improving and exploring in art, and finally formed her own family, creating a soft, beautiful, tactful and deep "Diao Li" aria. Premier Zhou Enlai wrote an inscription for her "Study hard and keep improving". 1984, died of illness.
