What was the cause of death of Huang Taiji?

For the cause of death of Huang Taiji, the record in the Draft of Qing History is simple: "It is the evening, the sea, and there is no disease." The real cause of Huang Taiji's sudden death is rarely mentioned in the history books, but if we carefully sort out the historical materials, we can find that Huang Taiji actually died of emotional grief. He only loved Chen Fei all his life, and finally died mourning for Chen Fei.

Huang taiji Huang taiji, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, the eighth son of Manchu Tusi Nurhachi, succeeded Jin Khan in the eleventh year of the latter Jin Dynasty (1626) and inherited his father's business. In less than ten years, he unified the whole northeast, inherited all the territory of the Ming Dynasty in this area, and went south to Korea and west to Mongolia. In the 10th year of Jin Tiancong (1636), in April, Huang Taiji proclaimed himself emperor in Shengjing, changing his country name to "Qing" and his year name to "Chongde", thus establishing the Qing Empire that unified Kanto. In the eighth year of Chongde (1643), on the ninth day of August, Huang Taiji was busy all day as usual. In this day's activities, nothing ominous happened. At night, Huang Taiji suddenly died on the royal couch of Shenyang Qingning Palace.

For the cause of death of Huang Taiji, the record in the Draft of Qing History is very simple: "In August, Bing Yin, Bei Ziluo was guilty, free from death and quiet. In Chen Wu, the imperial clan Gong Dai is the official department, Langqiu is the ritual department, and Xingne is the Ministry of Industry. Wu Geng, go to the Imperial Chongzheng Hall. It was the evening and the sea, and there was no disease and collapse. I was two years old and I was in office for seventeen years. " According to historical records, Huang Taiji was still working in Chongzheng Hall that night, and died in Qingning Palace for no reason two hours later. Because the incident happened suddenly, it gave future generations room for imagination. There are many speculations about the murder of Dourgen in unofficial history, which are related to the mystery of Zhuang Fei's marriage to Dourgen, and are vividly depicted. The real cause of Huang Taiji's sudden death is rarely mentioned in the history books. However, if we systematically sort out the historical materials, we can find that Huang Taiji actually died of emotional grief. He only loved Chen Fei all his life, and finally died mourning for Chen Fei.

Huang taiji has married a queen and five concubines, among which Mongolian Horqin blessed Wang Mang Gus, and there are three people in his family. The daughter of Manggus, whose real name is Zhezhe, was married to Huang Taiji at the age of fifteen (forty-two years of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty) and was named the filial piety queen. Shortly after moving to Shenyang in the tenth year of Jin Destiny (1625), Ban Butai, the granddaughter of Manggus and the daughter of Zhasang, also married Huang Taiji, who was only thirteen years old, and was named the mother of Shunzhi. Later, Wu Keshan, the son of Sesang, gave his sister, Heilanzhu, the sister of Xiaozhuang, to Huang Taiji as his wife. "Records of the Qing Dynasty" records that "all blessings are welcomed here, and the feast is collected". In October of the eighth year of Tiancong (1634), Chen Fei was allowed to live in Guanju Palace. Chen Fei entered the palace at the age of 26, younger than Huang Taiji's seventeen, and nine years later than his sister Zhuangfei. It is said that he was deeply loved by Huang Taiji because of his erudition, gentleness, beauty and wisdom.

In the first year of Chongde (1636), Emperor Taizong ascended the throne, and Chen Fei's position was officially confirmed by law. She was conferred the title of "Oriental Palace Rich in Jin", ranking first among the four concubines, second only to the Queen of Zhonggong. Emperor Taizong gave her the title of "Official Luo Palace", which originally came from the Book of Songs "Official Luo Dui, in Hezhou. This is a love poem. In its sense, it contains Taizong's deep love for her. In July (1637), Chen Fei gave birth to a son, ranking eighth. Huang taiji made an exception and called ministers to gather in the main hall to hold a grand celebration and issue an Amnesty order. The message to the Chinese language signed by him said, "Thanks to God's special care, Chen Fei, the palace of view, has given birth to an heir", and this amnesty was issued specially, so that all China people can get the benefits they deserve. When he called the newborn baby "heir", he declared that he was the Crown Prince, the heir to our throne. Korean king Li Zong was very sensitive, so he immediately sent a congratulatory message to Emperor Taizong, calling the baby the Crown Prince, and gave him a generous gift.

Unfortunately, the future heir, the emperor, contracted terrible smallpox before he was one year old and died in the first month of the third year of Chongde (1638). Chen Fei can't bear mental trauma, depressed, emotional discomfort, and obviously weak.

At this time, Huang taiji attacked the mainland many times. After several failures, he realized that to get Shanhaiguan, he had to go through four cities outside Shanhaiguan. So in the sixth year of Chongde (164 1), Dourgen and Haug were ordered to divide their troops to defend Shengjing and personally supervise the siege of Jinzhou. In September, when Hong Chengchou led the Ming Dynasty130,000 reinforcements to Mercedes-Benz, in the tense battle of Songshan, he suddenly heard that Chen Fei was ill, and Huang Taiji's five internal organs were burned, leaving only Du Du and Abatai around Jinzhou; Duoduo and Addali surround Songshan; On September 12, I pretended to be a soldier with the guards and hurried back to Shengjing (now Shenyang).

/kloc set out from Jinzhou front on 0/0, and was caught in a snowstorm on 0/3, but the muddy road could not stop Huang taiji from returning home. 16, a real king led hundreds of cavalry to meet him, and Huang Taiji inquired about Chen Fei's illness in detail. I was relieved to hear that he had recovered a little. /kloc-On the evening of 0/7, I crossed the Liaohe River eastward, which is only 90 miles away from Shenyang. Wang Xianqian recorded this situation in Donghua Record, and wrote: It was a drum beat at night, and the envoy from Shengjing arrived, detailing that Chen Fei was seriously ill. Huang taiji immediately set out to camp and pull out the village, and sent university students, Fu, Mai Yuezhang, Leng Monk Machine, Qi Xinlang Sony, etc. Ask about the illness. When Fu and others arrived in Shengjing, the 33-year-old had already died. Cold monk machine and Sony met Huang taiji on the way to report this matter. Huang taiji wailed. Shi Mao arrived in Shengjing, entered Guanluo Palace, and wept bitterly in front of Chen Ji. The use of "wailing" twice here means anxiety and sadness. Chen Fei's death was an emotional blow to Huang Taiji.

Since then, Huang taiji has been completely immersed in grief. According to "Donghua Record", "Living in the Imperial Palace, not eating for six days, is so angry day and night. It was noon that day, and suddenly I was in a coma, and I didn't care. " The princes and ministers were surprised and asked, "Why on earth?" Huang taiji replied: "I don't know." In fact, Huang Taiji knew that his temporary coma was caused by excessive grief. Although Huang taiji knew that he was "grieving excessively", he still couldn't control himself. He went to Shengjing at four o'clock before noon on the 18th, went to the official residence palace at six o'clock and cried Chen Fei. By noon on the 23rd, he had not eaten for six days, so sad that he was unconscious. There are many rich people in Huang Taiji Palace, but Chen Fei made him feel sad. At that time, Emperor Xiao Zhuang of Zhonggong was forty-three years old, and Princess Zhuang of Yongfu Palace was only twenty-nine. In addition, there are many young concubines, such as Gong Guifei of Linzhi and Gong Shufei of Yan Qing. Whether Chen Fei is alive or dead, he has not transferred Huang Taiji's love for Chen Fei.

Because Huang Taiji missed Chen Fei, he was very sad. Kings and ministers were afraid that he would worry about his health. On September 29th, as the first sacrifice, Huang Taiji led the former undertaker to salute and sacrifice in front of Chen Fei Mausoleum, read the eulogy and praised Chen Fei's virtue. He also ordered monks and Taoists to go to the Dojo to turn their souls for Chen Fei. Huang taiji expressed his condolences, but actually he couldn't. He still mourned day and night. According to Donghua Record, the kings Baylor invited Huang Taiji to go hunting to dispel his depressed mood. However, when he came back from hunting, he passed the funeral home in Chen Fei, and he went to Lingqian to cry bitterly again. 1October 27th, Huang taiji braved the heavy snow to pay homage to the grave, and posthumous title paid high courtesy and praise for the sake of public peace. What is more obvious is that Huang Taiji has a deep memory. Since then, I often go to Chen Fei's grave and cry.

After the Battle of Songshan, Hong Chengchou was captured and the Qing army invaded Jinzhou. These great victories, Huang Taiji still missed Chen Fei. Long-term grief seriously damaged his health. In the eighth year of Chongde (1643), he "sat on the south couch of Qingning Palace at night and died without illness". At the age of 52, he was buried in Zhaoling, Emperor Wendi of posthumous title.

It is said that Huang Taiji was dizzy from the wind. After Chen Fei's death, his health deteriorated day by day until his death. Obviously, the main cause of his death is not all the minor symptoms of dizziness caused by wind, but excessive sadness. After his death, Huang Taiji was buried in Zhaoling, next to Chen Fei's tomb. If Chen Fei chose Zhaoling to build land before his death, it is natural to bury Chen Fei on the west side of Zhaoling. But in fact, Zhaoling was built two years after Chen Fei's death, and its land was neither close to the mountain nor near the water, which did not meet the requirements for emperors to choose tombs. If it is indeed selected by Huang Taiji after Chen Fei's death, he would rather take the taboo of fatalism and move the mountain to talk with Chen Fei, which has a lot to do with Huang Taiji's love for Chen Fei.
