What's the point of putting ancestor idols at home?

There is a certain emphasis on placing ancestor statues at home. Generally, the statue is required to be higher than the family, in the center of the family, with a kind face, simple clothes, tall and straight body, solemn posture, proper instruments, neat placement and polite position.
