The first couplet begins with "Say goodbye to the desert sooner or later, and the south will fly everywhere", showing a vast desert, a desolate and bleak land, and a group of geese flapping their wings to fly south under a gray sky. Where is the south? It's far. Huo Ran left readers with endless imagination.
In the couplets, the poet added his own feelings and poured out his feelings without any worries: "The mountains were rainy and snowy, and the sweaters were damaged by Feng Shui." The mountains are heavy, the rain and snow are frequent, and the raging storm will mercilessly damage the feathers of geese. He was worried about Yan Zi's fate, and at the same time used Yan Zi's exile and sinister Shan Ye to illustrate his hard experience in official career.
The necklace couplet "The blue sea soul should be broken, the red chamber should be thin" once again directly expresses its feelings, gushing: the thought of geese flying south, the road is long and Xiu Yuan, when is the end, the soul is almost broken. What saddens me more is the lonely thinking woman in the Red Chamber. When can I wait for Yanzi's love letter? A goose's life is hard to help, so how can you miss a woman? This deeply expresses the author's longing for beautiful love.
"I don't know what I paid, but I left a few lines in return", which means that the geese are in danger of being shot by hunters and rarely have the fate of returning safely, thus suggesting that their careers are sinister. This shows that the author's environment is not smooth, and he has a feeling of being aloof and neither too hot nor too cold.
There is suspense at the beginning of this poem, with geese flying south as the main line, which leads to many elements such as rain and snow in the mountains, lack of confidence in the red chamber and so on, subtly expressing the hardships of one's official career and the feelings of missing women. The last two poems are connected in the first place, and the opening poem is full of charm and profound meaning.
Poetry seems to write about geese, but it is actually about people, or it can be said that it is about oneself, if it is from a big perspective to write about the official career phenomenon at that time. Even so, the poet expressed a yearning for a precious love in the ups and downs of his career through poetry. Perhaps this is the highlight of this poem and the crowning touch of the whole poem. At the same time, it is also different from the poems about geese in previous dynasties.
