Who is Wu Zetian buried with?

Wu Zetian was buried with Tang Gaozong and Li Zhi.

On February 26th, the first year of Shenlong (65438+70516)1,Wu Zetian died at the Xianju Temple in Shangyang Palace at the age of 82. The testamentary edict omitted the title of the emperor, calling it "Great Sage Queen", and pardoned the Queen Wang and the relatives of Chu Suiliang, Han Yuan and Liu Yuan. In May of the second year of Shenlong (706), he was buried with Emperor Gaozong in Ganling.

The tablet without words is located in Ganling (now Ganxian County, Shaanxi Province), where Wu Zetian and Tang Gaozong were buried together. The regulations of the whole cemetery are modeled after Chang 'an, Tang Jing. There are two monuments in front of the tomb, one is the tombstone of Emperor Gaozong, with the inscription of Wu Zetian; The other is the tombstone of Wu Zetian, with no words.

Extended data:

Ganling is a unique mausoleum in China and even in the world where two emperors and a couple were buried together. Li Zhi, the third emperor of the Tang Dynasty, and Wu Zetian, the only female emperor in China's history, are both buried in it, and they are national key cultural relics protection units. It was built in 684 AD and took 23 years to complete. Ganling was originally the tomb of Li Zhi in Tang Gaozong, so it was named Ganling. In fact, it is the tomb of an emperor and a queen.

Since Guo Moruo, modern people think that this is the tomb of two emperors buried together, but this is not in line with the ancient (including Tang Dynasty) view. Because after the Dragon coup, Wu Zetian was forced to return the Datang Jiangshan to the Li royal family.

In order to have a place to live after death, Wu Zetian herself announced the abolition of her Emperor and let her son (played by Tang Zhongzong Li Xian) be buried in Ganling, Tang Gaozong as the Queen of Tang Gaozong. Tang Zhongzong agreed to her mother's request. Therefore, in terms of ritual, Ganling still belongs to the tomb of an emperor and a queen.
