In the second year of Tang Gaozong (669), Xuanzang's bones, which were originally buried in Anbailuyuan, Xi 'an, were moved here and temples and towers were built. The temple is called "Datang Temple for Protecting the Country and Promoting Education", which is the first of the eight temples in Fan Chuan in the Tang Dynasty. Xingjiao Temple is famous at home and abroad. Yuan Ce, a disciple of Xuanzang, is Korean. Lu Taiyu and Quan Doo-hwan both visited Xingjiao Temple when they were presidents of South Korea. The Japanese birthplace is very prosperous, with the Kui Ji Memorial Hall. In 2007, Xingjiao Temple and Faxiang Temple in Korea became friendly temples. The teachings of Faxiangzong are too profound for ordinary people to understand. Scholars who studied Faxiangzong in modern times include Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao, all of whom are knowledgeable and literate.
The Tang Xingguo Temple, located between the East and West Yangwanpo in Duqu Street, has now disappeared. Only two 1400-year-old Tangbai trees have sprung up with dense branches and leaves. Now it is the former site of Shaanxi Vocational and Technical College.
Looking from a distance, the twin towers of Huayan Temple standing on the bank of Shaoling Plateau are particularly eye-catching. On the east is the ancestor of Huayan, Dushun Buddha Pagoda, which is surrounded by seven floors and is about 13 meters high. The stone carving on the third floor has the word "Clean Tower". The one in the west is the cool Buddha Pagoda of the fourth ancestor of Huayan Sect, with six sides and five floors and a height of 7 meters. There are 10 Buddhist monasteries on the east side of Tadong, and there is also a crude Pilu Temple, which enshrines the three saints of Huayan, namely Luzhana Buddha, Zuomanjusri Bodhisattva Right Samantabhadra and 18 Luohan. In recent decades, the government has made many major repairs to the twin towers of Huayan Temple. The face of the ancient temple has been greatly improved. Buddhist talents from Japan, Hong Kong and Macao often come to worship the Erhua Yan Pagoda, seek their roots and ask their ancestors, worship the Pagoda and promote Buddhism.
Today's Niutou Temple has no grand scale of the Tang Dynasty. The nearby Gongmiao and the cemetery of General Yang Hucheng under the slope were originally the ruins of Niutou Temple. There are towering old trees in the temple, mostly pine trees and locust trees. There is an old tree in front of the Dharma Hall, which is about 3 meters high and has withered by half. It is supported by a stone building, from which veteran cadres escape, bending like a dragon and swaying branches and leaves, so it is called "Dragon Tree". Another Tang plant, Platycladus orientalis, has perennial flowers on its back, withered and twisted. Although it is aging, it is still flourishing and full of vitality, and it is called "phoenix cypress".
